Care to take a fun poll?

Don't panic I am not going to get into the habit of asking you to take a poll!  This is part of my Blogging 201 challenge (which is nearly over)  and as I haven't ever used a poll before I thought it might be good to try. I have asked a silly question just to …

Weekly writing challenge: Great expectations – do they ever live up to the hype?

I often have high expectations which don't always live up to the hype, but as yet I haven't changed my way of thinking. Then again, I also don't let myself get too expectant, probably to protect myself from disappointment.  I don't even know if these two sentiments make sense! I find that I get really surprised - probably because I …

Out for my super Saturday session today in the glorious autumn sunshine. It was my long run for the week, so a bit slower pace. My run keeper app told me that I did 49.11km in 2 hours & sent me a congratulatory email and all. I know I'm improving but hey that's a bit …

Weekly photo challenge: Threshold

This was a great first 5km Park Run event for me.

Deb's World

imageHere is my submission for this week’s photo challenge. It is a picture taken on my phone on the threshold of my first 5km Park Run.

I took this photo just as I was about to join over 127 others for the Lake Ginninderra Park Run which happens every Saturday morning at 8am.  All runners were being briefed on the event, the course and the organisation.

Park Runs are free events for runners all over the world and now that I am registered I can just turn up and run at any Park Run. They aren’t really competitive as you run against yourself and your recorded times. I think I ran very well and am pleased to say that I came first in my age group – according to the email I received just after the event. My first official PB, how exciting!! As I live over 250kms away…
