Weekly photo challenge: Between - family

Between my brother and sister

I don’t get together with my sister and brother very often, as we live a long way away from each other, but when we do, we revert to our childish selves.  Here we are giggling at a family photo with me between them and the years between us just melting away. Considering I’m the eldest it’s nice being in between them for a change and I love the way this photo reflects our relationship.

This photo was taken at my mother’s birthday on the weekend where we had 19 family members travel long distances (including my parents) to celebrate. It wasn’t an especially significant birthday for mum but it turned out to be a lovely day between generations of family who haven’t seen each other for quite some time. The feelings between family members is a wonderful thing and one we mustn’t take for granted!

Between. Capture something in the middle of two things. It can be a person or object, or simply the space in between. It can also be a feeling or relationship — a bond that connects people, or a space that separates.

Think I nailed it!!

Awesome photo! I’m the oldest, with a brother and sister as well, and as I’m usually the one behind the lens, I adore the few photos of the three of us showing our truest and most sibling selves 🙂
