I want to shake it up!

I’m letting you know that I’m participating in the Run Melbourne and will be proudly supporting The Shake It Up Australia Foundation to raise funds to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease, in this life time.

My sister and I have decided to run/walk in this event to raise awareness & funds for Parkinson’s Disease. We are like many others who have family members suffering and wish there was a solution to this insidious disease. We applaud all those working towards finding a cure and those who support the carers in so many ways. It’s the least we can do!

My training for the run in Melbourne is going slowly due to dreadful weather recently – think SNOW & RAIN – but I am committed to doing my best to support Shake it Up Australia Foundation. My parents visited last week and I saw first hand some of the issues my father has to deal with Parkinson’s Disease and also my mother as a carer. It’s very hard on both of them. I wish there was an instant cure.

Every day 30 people in Australia are diagnosed with Parkinson’s, and as many as 10% of these people are under the age of 40. This disease currently has no known cure, however through investment in research, targeted at finding a cure, Shake It Up Australia Foundation and their partner The Michael J Fox Foundation For Medical Research, offer hope.

Helping to find a cure for Parkinson’s is something very dear to my heart and I’d really appreciate your support to help me reach my fundraising goal for this great cause.

Here are some ways you can personally help me right now
