Today is a glorious sunny day, so different to the recent wet, wintery, dark and miserable days we’ve been having. The frost was thick this morning and the temperature was well into the minus figures. The snow views of Mt Kosciuszko, as seen from our front paddock, are just spectacular.
So it was with a light heart that I went for a walk with my trusty companion (no, he’s not the relic). The bush behind our house has many hidden relics, where people have dumped once loved objects, and the bush has since started to swallow them up.
I took these photos with my iPhone 5 for this week’s weekly photo challenge topic of relic.
I thought I’d have another look at your take on this location Deb – and I really love what you did with the first shot – I love the way the branch frames the shot above the roof of the car. Nice eye for patterns!

Your blog looks great! I just went to this theme but my post aren’t showing up beside my header…It’s all in one column. Did you have any issues with this when you set yours up? Thanks!

As soon as I saw this picture, I figured you had to live near me! I still have no idea where you do live, but I’m in NY. Down the road a bit from me is Katterskill Falls. A GREAT hiking spot, but extremely dangerous. At the bottom of the hike, sits a car, just like this, that years ago, went off the road and down the mountain side, stopping when it hit a tree. I wish I had pictures to show you… It’s eerily similar to this. Very nice photos!!

This was taken in rural NSW Australia, so there must be two such cars resting amongst the trees. Thanks for commenting!

Wow… That’s just too coincidental. You see, I’ve been blabbering for months now about How Australia is on my bucket list. Someday, I’ll face my fear, collect enough money and move there. It’s kind of funny to know that there ARE 2 such cars resting among the trees…one in NY which I cannot wait to escape and one in Australia, where I can’t wait to one day live. Thanks for the response!!

Outstanding how the colours on the car mirror the colours in the bracken.
Your mention of frost had me doing a double-take. July?? Then I checked your locale and it all made sense. July!!

I appreciate your comment. I was really pleased with how the colours in the car complimented the bracken too. I love the whole effect & am happy with the photos. Thanks for noticing & taking the time to comment.
We may be in for snow in the next few days!!

Great pic! I wonder what the story behind the car is.

Thanks. I also wonder about how it ended up there. No idea unfortunately. I love the mix of bracken, the huge trees at the top of the ridge with the car nestled in, looking cosy. I enjoyed getting out & taking the pics too. 😊
