Across the water

We’re up to day 3 of Photography101 and today we’re to try to tell a story with water. For consideration is also whether a photograph will work better horizontally or vertically.

This photo was deliberately taken from the horizontal perspective. I think the buildings dictate this as they go across the bay and your eyes are drawn from left to right. I also hope your eyes skim across the water. Is that how you see this as well?

I love the colour of the water in this photo and I will be the first to admit that colour is an important theme to me.

The water is the foreground, the trees the background and the buildings the focal point.

This picture was taken in historic Stari Grad in Croatia on my iPhone.
