Tea time #6 – with a confession

I’m always up for a tea party and a visit to Justine’s Tea Time #6, over at Eclectic odds n sods, is just what the doctor ordered today as I’m feeling a bit poorly 😦

First up I have a confession to make! As you know on my last visit to Tea Time #5 I took along my little tea time buddy (AKA Dave), who made quite the impression with the tea party set, but I think I had his pants on back to front! Looking at his photo the imageother day I thought he seemed a bit odder than usual, so I fiddled with his bottom half and found I’d got his pants around the wrong way!!  Talk about laugh 🙂   Anyway I’ve now learnt my lesson and will ensure he is properly attired next time he comes along.

For Tea Time #6 I’m bringing my whole family – well almost!  This weekend in my town is huge – we have Tumbafest which is a weekend full of music, food and wine along the banks of the pretty little creek.  It is a very laid back, relaxed, chilled out sort of weekend where you plonk yourself down and gather your friends around you, settle in with some good food and wine and watch a variety of bands on the truck stage across the creek.

Tumbafest is held every year and for a very small rural town we do well to bring 5000-10000 people into the area to showcase our pretty piece of the countryside. Leo Sayer is the main act this year so I’m sure there will be some dancing. If you want you can join the dancers, wander around the market stalls, sample wines fresh from local vignerons, cider from the little town just up the road, taste delicious food from all over the world and support the local economy. There are rides for the kids, skateboard classes, face painting and generally just plain old fun to be had. We’ve just recovered from Tumbatrek, Tumba Races and Tumba-muddy-Rumba, so bring on Tumbafest!

Just as an aside, if  you want to read my post from a while ago about Tumba-bloody-Rumba shooting kanga-bloody-roos then click on this link.  It’s very cute…even if I do say myself 🙂

This year we have my daughter and her fiancée, my parents, my sister and her husband, my sister in law and my parents in law, all coming for the weekend! I can assure you there will be plenty of tea drunk this weekend. My parents in law are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with us so we may share a champagne or two as well as the tea and cakes! Here is a photo from their wedding day.

I do hope I haven’t overwhelmed you with the crowd and all the activity.  It’s always nice to feel welcomed and that’s how I feel whenever I visit Tea Time.  Thanks for having me (us), I feel a bit better already,  just by hanging out with you all.

Deb 🙂

Leo Sayer? Seriously? Wow you brought Leo Sayer to tea? Haha you outdid yourself for teatime.

You say it’s a smal place but 1000 is quite a gathering. It all sounds such great fun and sounds like you hold loads of events. I would love to be there.

Big congrats also to the anniversary couple and for you sharing the photo. How lovely 🙂

Thank you soooo much for coming to tea you always bring such an eclectic mix xxxx

Yes!! I’m so glad you are pleased with Leo coming to tea time 😄
We do live in a small community but there’s always something to do here.
I’ll pass on your congrats to the happy couple, I love looking at old photos like theirs, it gives a great insight into how they were before we got to meet them.

Haha! I know, I felt so bad for him, especially with me writing that I fiddled with his pants – I probably should have been a bit more discrete 😜

Great post, Debbie. Entertaining, informative, interesting, hilarious, and also with great photos. Thanks.

What a gorgeous couple! Congratulations to them and you all. This kind of celebration is very special and a magic moment for a family. My parents celebrated their 50th and it was fantastic.

Pity I’m so far away and cannot join this party. Enjoy also for me!

    Hugs from Amsterdam.
