Weekly photo challenge: Rewards (are always worth waiting for)

I have been a bit obsessed with my sunflower lately and have taken photos of it at every opportunity.  Lucky for you, my loyal readers, I haven’t shown you every photo I’ve taken (it might seem like it I know).

This morning upon checking its progress, I saw that it had completely opened. Hooray!!

When I saw today’s weekly photo challenge prompt of ‘Rewards’ I decided I hadn’t quite finished with my sunflower photos and will use today’s photo for my post in this week’s challenge.

Good morning – I’m awake!!

I think this photo is my favourite one so far.

My progress report post from the other day shows some of my photos from along the way and I’m proud of them all. Just last week I used a photo of my sunflower for my rule of thirds weekly photo challenge. Today’s photo has really thrilled me for some reason. Considering it was taken on my iPhone and edited quite basically, it’s come out clear, crisp and full of colour.  I deliberately dulled the background out so that the flower takes centre stage – as I said to my sister recently – I’m not known for my subtlety and I think that this flower resonates with me for this very reason.

Rewards in many ways – my patience at watching it grow from the seed I planted weeks ago, the growth in my photography skills, the beauty of the fully opened flower and the rewards I get from sharing my happy sunflower with all of you.

Can’t ask for more than that!

Deb 🙂

    1. Happy to be of use anytime 🌻it will start warming up for you soon and we will go cold. We actually get snow here sometimes but nothing like your efforts. Sending sunny vibes to you.

  1. Lovely flower Deb but I think you got it right. The real reward is the accomplished feeling you got for growing it from a seed, much as your photography skills are growing from their seeds as well. Congrats on both!
