Eclectic Corner #11 – Week 2 – Momentarily

Momentarily

In the scheme of things

We are on this world but momentarily.

How we leave the world is more important than the number of years we live

in regards to what we’ve done and

what we’ve achieved.

What will we be remembered for?

What will we leave behind as our legacy?

What memories and stories will they tell?

Momentarily is the theme for Eclectic Corner #11 hosted by Justine at Eclectic Odds n sods.   My poem/piece of writing is in response to a funeral I attended yesterday (was it that obvious?).

This is my second post for Eclectic Corner #11, as it’s now the second Tuesday of the month.  Here’s a link to my photograph for week 1, showing me caught momentarily napping.

The new look Eclectic Corner asks for the following:

  • 1st Tuesday of each month, Week 1 = Photography
  • 2nd Tuesday of each month, Week 2 = Poetry or written piece
  • 3rd Tuesday of each month, Week 3 = Favourite related quote
  • Week 4  will celebrate with the Tea Party blog hop

I enjoy participating in these challenges as they get me thinking, writing and photographing on different topics. They make me extend myself. I also feel part of a community which is a great side of blogging that I never really expected to find. Feel free to join in – the more the merrier. Thanks again for hosting us Justine!

My picture for this post was taken in Nepal back in 2009.  The prayer flags fluttering in the clear blue sky seem to be quite fitting.

  1. Wonderful post.
And I am ashamed to admit that I didn’t realize that each week is a different part of the theme. I completely missed that part of the post! Oops. Thanks for that 😄

  2. Hello Debs what a thoughtful piece and yes it makes sense you wrote this and the recent funeral you went to as this always for me anyway has a long lasting impact. I’m sorry for your loss too I don’t know who it was but it’s always sad, always a wrench and your poem pays tribute to them in a way as I am sure you were thinking of them also.

Your a great supporter of my eclectic corner thank you so much. Great addition the prayer flags too btw xxxx
