Weekly photo challenge: Transition (from day to night)

This week’s photo challenge is all about transition.  I love taking photos of days ending and days starting (in other words sunsets and sunrises) so this was an easy choice to make. I like the fact that for every day that ends a new day will start and with it a new outlook and new challenges. It also means that we…

Hello iPhriday

I’ve decided to join in with Lisa from GrayDaysandCoffee for iPhriday where she likes to share photos taken with her mobile phone, on a Friday, rather than using her usual fancy, shmancy photography gear.  You can see Lisa’s posts by using the link above – she is a very accomplished photographer. I always use my iPhone for my photos so it’s not too hard for…

Australian icons, a gum tree, Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge

Weekly photo challenge: Trio of icons

I’m a bit late for this  week’s photo challenge…. but better late than never.  The theme is trio and asked for a photo of something that comes in threes. My photo shows three very Australian icons  – there’s the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, the just as iconic Opera House and a classic Australian gum tree. I was there again in this very…

Mundane Monday Challenge – let’s just sit and relax

Let’s just take a moment to sit and relax! Here’s my photo for this week’s Mundane Monday challenge. I love the texture and simplicity of this chair and it was surprisingly comfortable. I hope you too enjoy the chance to sit and relax…… The Mundane Monday Challenge is hosted by PhoTrablogger and is a challenge created to find beauty in almost everything. The challenge is simple…

Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Black and white

I used this photo in a recent Mundane Monday challenge. It’s a photo of a solar light in the garden, taken from above.  In the original the yellow stands out and now in black and white it looks completely different. I decided to play around with the photo and ended up transforming it into black and white for this week’s  Sally D’s…

Mundane Monday Challenge – look up

We don’t look up enough as we all tend to be too busy looking down at our screens – so here’s a shot of the blue sky and fluffy white clouds for this week’s Mundane Monday challenge. No editing….just the clouds in the blue sky floating peacefully by…. The Mundane Monday Challenge is hosted by PhoTrablogger and is a challenge created to find beauty…

Victory – Final MOB update

Final update from the Mother of the Bride (aka MOB) THE WEDDING of the year has been and gone. It was beautiful, amazing and everything we could have wished for.  I’m happy but also sad – if that makes sense. We had the wedding over the course of a weekend with the majority of guests staying on site.  The ceremony was held…

Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Rose bud

Here’s a photo of one of my favourite rosebuds.  This particular rose bush has the most delightful fragrant yellow roses so I’m quite surprised that there is so much other colour in this bud. As an aside we used some of these roses petals for my daughter’s wedding on the weekend.  My husband and I collected a heady mix of pinks, mauves,…

Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Nature (green paddocks and pink silage)

It’s the first Monday of the month which means it’s Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge – and this week the theme is Nature. On our way home from a bit of a road trip on the weekend, I spotted these rolls of pink silage sitting in amongst the green spring grass.  I liked the contrast of the green grass, rolling hills, pink silage,…

Weekly photo challenge: A weekend of treats!

Treats and indulgences can take many forms.  We are asked to show what brings us happiness for this week’s photo challenge. My weekend of treats went something like this…. finishing work on Friday afternoon for 2 whole weeks of holidays 🙂 Drive 5 hours down the highway to the big smoke  Afternoon tea with my sister after a lovely few hours of shopping…
