This week, take “eye” as your inspiration.
Join me for a look at life through my eyes
Come with me for a bike ride “through my eyes” – down the hills, up the hills, around the corners, on the flat…it’s a warm sunny morning but thankfully the flies aren’t too bad today. Last week I felt like I was the little old lady who swallowed a fly…except I swallowed many more than just one!
My photo shows the view through my rear view mirror on my bike, I like to see what’s coming up behind me – and maybe play a bit of eye spy!
While out on our social ride today we passed paddocks that had just been cut for hay, houses with their Christmas decorations up, we saw an eagle hovering in the sky, vineyards, cattle resting under what shade they could find, empty blue sky above, the big mountains shimmering in the distance …it was very enjoyable way to spend a few hours.
We managed approximately 20kms but the last 5 were the hardest as it’s all uphill back to home. I try not to think about the home ride too early into the ride as I don’t want to psych myself out. I made it up today without walking the bike, I’m getting much better at using my gears 🙂
We made it home after a social coffee with our group of social riders and I must admit to feeling a bit sore already. The hills around here are everywhere and as we go down one steep bit I know there’s the uphill on the other side to come. But it’s good for your head space – I think as I ride, I plan things, I have philosophical chats with myself about things like the beauty of hills.
Today I decided that if we didn’t go up the hills we would never know what was on the other side or have that exhilarating ride down.
So that’s it for this week’s photo challenge – through my eyes! Here’s a link to see how others have interpreted the theme Eye Spy.
Deb 🙂
PS. Thinking about it, I’ve decided that my whole blog is all about seeing things through my eyes! Feel free to take a look.

Glad you enjoyed it! I was trying to think of something to post as I was out riding and it came to me that I should just describe my ride. It’s always good to see what others do with these challenges – opens our eyes so to speak!!

It was such a wonderful thing to do. Most people can do either of the things, post beautiful photographs or create a picture with their writing. You did both extremely well!

Thanks for ‘seeing’ that too Dawn 🙂 I think most blogs would fit into that category to some extent. I’m glad you came along for the ride!
