Weekly photo challenge: The hills are alive with optimism

Optimism is the only way forward for our Tumbarumba Shire!

This week’s photo challenge is all about Optimism.

This week show us something you’re optimistic about…..

Our town maybe small but our Shire is huge in both area and spirit.  We have only a few short weeks to let the State politicians know that we do not want to amalgamate with another shire.  There are many reasons why but I won’t go into them here.

I am filled with optimism when I see all the locals who have joined forces to fight the incompetent decision that was made by a bureaucrat sitting in an office a million miles away, who knows nothing about our town and its community.  Much of the information in the reports they have circulated is incorrect and cannot be taken seriously but we are supposed to take this decision lying down. No way are we doing that!

To see the people turn out for a public meeting, to offer to help in any way, to join social media to protest the decision, to rally at short notice when a TV crew turned up in town, to step up and speak out….it makes the word optimism come alive. I am so proud to live in this community and know that together we will do our best to overturn this decision.

My photo of our hill in the glorious afternoon sunshine, has been used on the Save Tumbarumba Shire social media sites and I like to think that it too expresses optimism.

The hills are alive with optimism!  Wish us luck in our campaign.

Deb 🙂
