Show us someone or something you admire (and tell us about them, too)!
This week’s photo challenge is all about admiration.
As we’ve just been to see my mother-in-law to help celebrate her birthday, I thought I’d share a few words about Ruby!
R – Reflective, reliable, responsible, resplendent and rational – a calming influence, willing to share her wisdom with all
U – Unique, upbeat, unruffled, understanding and unimpeachable – dealing with all of life’s unfairness in her own way
B – Bright, brave, bereaved and a beautiful person inside and out
Y – Young at heart – always!
We always enjoy spending time with Ruby & Les and it was just the way she wanted to celebrate – family, nibbles and games! I’m sure you will join me in wishing Ruby a very happy birthday. I admire her for all sorts of reasons – the words above just scratch the surface.
Ruby often wrote each of my daughters an acrostic poem for their birthdays, so I thought I’d write one for her on her birthday too!

I know the girls loved the poems she wrote them for their birthdays so it seemed very appropriate 🙂

Debbie, would you mind if I linked to this post in my own Weekly challenge post. You’ve inspired me to do something very similar for my mum and I love the idea of your acrostic poem.

Thanks Desley, we’ve had a huge weekend of driving but it was worth it to help her celebrate.

She really enjoyed us going to see her. I wrote the poem on the way home in the car. She’s an avid reader of my blog, so she’ll see it eventually. 😬
