The case of the famous Pen-Friend

The story about a famous pen-friend

Once upon a time a young teenage girl attended a French speaking camp in Sydney on a school excursion.

The girl was part of a group from her country high school, along with lots of students from all over the state.

Many friendships were formed during the week of fun activities, which were aimed at improving their grasp of the French language.

One of her new friends was a boy her age, from Albury who was funny, clever and a bit of a clown.

His name was Richard.

After the camp the girl and the boy started a pen-friend relationship writing numerous letters to each other, in English not French.

After a while the letters dropped off but she never forgot his name and their short-lived friendship.

Years later she started hearing a familiar name in the media, and entertainment worlds, and realised that it was ‘her’ Richard from all those years ago.

These days he is a hard working, well respected and popular actor starring in TV series, on stage and in movies. He is still clever, funny and a bit of a clown and he has made a name for himself in Australia and around the world with this talent.

Every time she hears his name, sees his picture or watches him on the screen she is taken back to that time when he was her pen-friend…and she can’t help but smile 🙂

        1. You should 😉 A little blast from the past coming with a warm smile can only be appreciated, don’t you think?

    1. I thought so too! I saw him interviewed for a new series starting tonight on ABC and it made me smile. I decided to write about it as I need all the smiles I can get at the moment 😊
