It’s all in the detail – Weekly Photo Challenge

Details get me all the time.

This week’s photo challenge is all about  Details. Jen H has posted the most the most gorgeous macro photo of dewdrops on dandelion seeds as an example of what she means by looking at ‘details’.   She is enamored with nature. As she says “I love the exotic and the mundane, the wondrous and the earthy. One of my favorite things about nature is her details — the intricate vascular system of a leaf, the wispy patterns in clouds at sunset, or luminous beads of dew on the delicate filaments of a dandelion seed. When distilled down to the details, a weed becomes a lovely piece of art.”

I woke today to a sunny day after weeks of never ending rain, grey skies and miserable winter weather.  It was frosty but at least the sun was shining!  Yay!!!

I have a ‘thing’ about trying to capture water droplets and this morning I took a few photos of droplets glinting in the morning sunshine, with some success, but then I saw this leaf lying on the deck.  I love the wholeness of the water droplets not to mention the texture, the colour and the details of the leaf.

  I used my iPhone to take this picture then used the app Pixlr to edit it,  it now has a certain grittiness that it was lacking before.  What do you think? I like to think that my leaf can also be classed as a piece of art in its own way.  Nature is definitely a great artist.

For this week’s challenge, try to look past the big picture and take a more intimate approach. Zoom in on details in unexpected places — it can be something from the natural world, or it can be human-made.
