Share Your World – March 20 2017

It’s time again for Cee’s Share Your World Share Your World (SYW) is all about having a safe place for everyone to answer random questions that Cee posts each week.  Here is the basic format.

  • Answer four questions each week.
  • Bonus Question is always the same “What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?”  Because we all need to be reminded that there are many things in our lives to be grateful about.

It’s a great way to join with other bloggers to share our worlds.  The idea is to answer without overthinking the questions and have some FUN. Feel free to join in by copying the questions, writing your answers in a new post and linking back to Cee’s original post.

This week’s questions are:

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

That’s a great question!  I know I’m 56 and I have grown up children but I must admit I don’t feel as if I’m that old.  I don’t know how you’re supposed to feel and when being ‘old’ actually kicks in.  I’m active, enthusiastic and have a sense of adventure, I’m curious and observant so I’m hoping these attributes will keep me feeling younger than my biological years for quite some time to come.  In my head I only feel about 30 or 40 so I’m happy with that.

So, you’re on your way out and it’s raining. Do you know where your umbrella is or do you frantically search for it all over your house?

You’ve opened a can of worms with this one!  Australians love to talk about the weather – how much rain, how little rain, what weather is expected soon, the changing seasons….we either have too much rain like last winter or not enough like right now.  We are desperate for rain here at the moment and guess what it’s now raining…at this very moment in time!  YAY 🙂

We live on a property without connection to town water so we collect our water in tanks and they have been getting very low.  I’ve known it to snow in March here – yes SNOW in MARCH in AUSTRALIA!!

But I was sidetracked by the weather (like any good Australian) – back to the question. I have a collection of umbrellas just waiting for me but I rarely get around to taking one.  I try to have an umbrella in the car at all times too.

FYI – At the moment I’m tempted to go out and dance in this lovely rain without an umbrella!

Here’s a shot I took of the ominous looking sky this morning while I was out walking, it has eventuated into some lovely soaking rain so I’m very happy 🙂

Do you recharge your energy by going out with friends for a good time or by spending with quiet time alone?

I enjoy time with friends but admit to recharging my batteries spending quiet time alone, usually reading.  I’ve recently discovered my hammock is very good for recharging my batteries.  Here’s a shot from my resting position.

Good Match

Name three things you and your spouse, partner or best friend have in common.

I asked my husband this question and he quickly said our three daughters!!

My answer is –

  1. We are both dark skinned but not particulalry thick skinned (well maybe that’s just me)
  2. We are both thoughtful of others and caring
  3. We both like adventures, love to travel, and are curious of the world around us

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week – I’m grateful to my family for supporting what I do and especially for my daughter featuring me in this great post as part of her Globetrotter series.  Globetrotters – G’day Debbie

The week ahead – I’m off to Melbourne for a few days to  a concert, The Waif’s 25 year anniversary tour, and a comedy show the next night.  I’m grateful to my sister for finding these great events and inviting me to stay.  Families – what’s not to love 🙂

Did I mention that it’s raining???

Thanks again for visiting my world.  Enjoy the week ahead everyone!

Deb 🙂

    1. I didn’t know Canadians do that too! Maybe we’re not as alone as we think Joanne. I know the English are pretty much into all things weather too. But back to the weather, it’s stopped raining here for the moment but in other places in Aus they are getting more than their fair share 🙂

      1. I think weather is such a big thing here because we get so much of it … the extremes are huge from the very hot and humid days of summer to the frigid Arctic temperatures of winter and everything in between. That’s a lot of inspiration for complaints and comments 🙂

    1. The rain’s been great Donna. I agree with the characteristics we share, we work well as a team although we’re very different people too. The pic was a great capture on my walk. Thanks Donna always lovely to have you come along and I love getting comments. 🙂
