Love the addition of cinnamon! I make plum jam with cardamon and apricot jam with vanilla bean and they really do make a difference to the taste.

Crabapple jam, Is it anything like apple butter?

I’ve never tasted crabapple jam. For some reason I was thinking of Anne of Green Gables. Love a good Jam though.

What exactly is a crabapple Deb?

They are a small sour, tart type of apple, usually used by adding sugar and making jam. Good question!

Thanks Deb! You know I used to read Trixie Belden mystery novels when I was a kid and her mum used to make crabapple jam. We didn’t have google back then but I’m sure dad told me what they were. I didn’t realize we had them in Australia.

Snap! I loved Trixie Belden books too. I must admit to not knowing crabapples were here either until this cooking exercise 🙂 They’re quite an old fashioned sort of fruit.
