Writespiration – is a great challenge which I’m enjoying more each week.
The challenge is to write something using the weekly theme, in just 52 words…. EXACTLY 52 words, no more, no less. It’s harder than it seems, feel free to have a go yourself if you doubt me!
This week Sacha has given us the words the bitch was right to use in our post. Here we go:
The bitch was right
The wound was still so raw
a throbbing, bleeding mess.
Inside his head their life in pictures
looped continually on repeat.
He didn’t understand the how or why.
Maybe the bitch was right to jilt him
On their wedding day.
He just wasn’t husband material
She knew the real him after all.
I seem to following a theme here and making a series which was completely unintentional at the beginning. It’s now getting to be fun!
My previous offerings in this ‘series’ can be found here:
I’ve also written an advert for my mother in 52 words
and The Switch was fun too, although my dark side seems to be emerging!
Are you keen to join in the fun of writing a story in just 52 words?? Give it a go and let me know what you come up with.
Deb 🙂
PS. You can also find Deb’s World here – I’d be delighted if you’d join me.
Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, G+, Facebook and now Flipboard too!
ooh! Great take Debbie!

Such language mother! Definitely turning into a series. Great to see a different side of your writing.

I’m sorry about the language It is quite fun but Eliza’s worried about where I’m taking this and getting my ideas from!

Yes I agree, although I wonder where some of these ideas are coming from!! So is my daughter who is getting married soon, she’s a bit concerned. 🙂

Bit of a wedding theme happening here… hope art is not going to reflect life. :0. Love the photo and the yellow light, I will try one of these out one day… and I am sure it is quite difficult. Maybe there is a crime fiction inside of you….. Louise

I took that photo in Melbourne’s big church just recently Louise and thought it sited my post! Eliza is getting worried about my wedding theme and wonders where I’m going with it. I must admit I’m surprising myself too. I’m sure you’d enjoy the challenge too 🙂

A few things, first off amazing piece, as always. Your writing never fails to fill me with chills and thrills! Two, this challenge sounds quite fun! After completing the A to Z I’ve suddenly forgotten how to find my own inspiration?! This would be quite helpful, I can’t wait to play along!

I really appreciate your thoughts on my blog and my writing. I do enjoy it and try to have fun. Your A-Z was an amazing challenge and I applaud your for getting through it. I’m sure you’ll find inspiration somewhere and if you feel like taking on this challenge I’m sure you’d enjoy it and do really well.

I feel bad for the poor guy. Hopefully, he gets his revenge in an upcoming story. 🙂

Me too Austin, I don’t know what’s going to happen next either – it all depends on Sacha’s next prompt.

haha, well they aren’t always easy to fit into the same theme – hopefully most weeks will be bendable. Perhaps not this naughty one though :p
