My friend is a bit ‘different’

My Friend

I don’t have a pet dog to share a photo of

I could share a photo of my husband, who’s also my friend

Or a photo of one of my real friends.

But I thought I’d share a photo (or two) of my bike instead.

It’s my friend and it takes care of me 🙂

Because that’s what friends do!

We had a great holiday in Tasmania a while ago, taking our bikes along for the ride. You can read more about it here if you’d like. Tassie is a great place for bike riding and is fast becoming the place to go for adventurous cycling – Tour de Tassie

Are you a bike rider by any chance?  I’m what you’d call a casual, fair weather rider – I like flat, easy riding the best, but can manage hills if I have to!  We love going on barge and bike holiday trips in Europe and we’ve had a few fabulous ones over the years to Paris, Croatia and most recently to Amsterdam.

Life is like riding a bike,

the pedals go up and down

and you either move forward or you stop.

That’s my dose of wisdom for you today 🙂

  2. Hi Debbie – I like your ‘different’ friend! I love recreational cycling for fun. I’m looking for a new bike. What brand/ model is your bike and would you recommend it? #lifethisweek

    1. So glad you can relate. It’s getting a bit cold here to go riding but I have been running since we got back which is good for me. It’s very easy to be lazy when you’re retired!!

  3. Unfortunately Deb, I’ve never been able to ride a bike for some reason. That is why I run. If your bike is your friend, perhaps my new running shoes are mine? Thanks for sharing with us at #overthemoon link party. I’ve pinned and shared. Have a great week.

    1. I’ve had a few people comment that they’ve never been able to ride a bike, which I find very interesting! Yes your new shoes can be your friend 🙂 Thanks for sharing Sue, much appreciated.

  4. I’m not a bike rider (I can’t understand how not to fall off) but my husband is, and he’d definitely agree with you. It helps him explore at his own pace, and meet the people he’d never encounter if he was in a car. And I’m glad you haven’t got a dog – this is a great interpretation of the theme.

    1. Thanks so much for commenting Margaret. I was a bit worried it wouldn’t come across right but I’m glad to hear you get what I’m trying to say. I know exactly what your husband experiences and I love having the ability to pedal at my own pace, stop when I want to take a photo and see the little things along the way.
