Not so Wordless Wednesday: 21 June 2017

I know it’s supposed to be Wordless Wednesday but I like to break the rules sometimes!

Meet the real penguin of Penguin and his seagull mate

Meet the real penguin of Penguin. There’s a funny story about the seagull sitting on his head and I have to share it with you – we were told by a local that the seagull perched there all day and rarely ever moved. So when another photographer was trying to get a shot of it I told him not to panic, the seagull rarely moves and just at that moment the seagull decided to fly off and didn’t return. I made a hasty retreat after apologising profusely.  At least I got my shot!!

Apparently the penguin is a real draw-card for the town and gets dressed up for major occasions such as Christmas and Easter. A waitress told us that she’d be a multi-millionaire if she had a dollar for every photo that’s been taken.

I know everyone who has been to Penguin has this same shot but I think it’s worth sharing again.

Wordless Wednesday….with words.

  1. A Christmas time he gets to wear a Santa Suit. He was just down the road from where I lived for many years. Everyone finds him amusing. There is a punk band in England called the Penguins…I heard that he featured on their album cover many years ago but I’ve never verified this fact.
