Pink flamingo fun, travel pics and a cat called Luna

A pink flamingo always manages to make me smile 🙂 How about you?

This week’s photo challenge is all about the humble collage, so I have compiled not one, but three collages – all using a different method.  Hey, they did say it was Blogger’s Choice!

Collage An assortment, a collection, a hodgepodge.

1. Pink Flamingo fun:  As we’re in the depths of winter here in Oz I decided to go back to a warmer, funner time when a Pink Flamingo was queen of the pool.  So here she is, in all her glory, with various family members enjoying her fabulousness!

This collage was made using an app on my phone and saved into my media gallery.

2. Travel pics: The following collage is a relic of a time long ago, before digital cameras, when we printed photos out and received ‘mini photos’ as well as full sized ones.  We were living in the UK at the time and made these collages by gluing the photos, in a hodgepodge way, onto a cork board.  These boards are still hanging in our house, I often look at them and am transported back in time.

These collages are old school, using glue, photos and a cork board.

3. A cat called Luna Aphrodite: And last but not least here’s my collage of Luna.  Our eldest daughter was only 15 or 16 when she was given Luna as a kitten, adding to our two dogs, rabbit and chicken menagerie.  Within a few short years our daughter had left home for university, then onto a life in the UK, never to return to live at home.  Luna stayed at home with us and has been a a good companion, despite the fact that none of us are really ‘cat’ people.  Luna has now been missing for the past week. Given our daughter is now in her early 30s, Luna has lived a long life, even by cat standards.  We like to think she’s gone to sleep somewhere warm. I’ve written a few posts about Luna over the years – Black and White Cat and Luna and the Blue Tongue Lizard and share these pictures with you.

This collage was made in the WordPress media gallery.

Collages can be made of anything and are a bit like life itself – a collection, an assortment, a hodgepodge – of memories, adventures, people, pets and thoughts.

I like collages, do you?

  3. I love these collages, Deb. The pink flamingos made me smile. The cork board gave me a feeling of nostalgia…and an appreciation for the ease of digital. Thanks for sharing these!
