Share Your World with us – 26 July 2017

Hello!

It’s time to enjoy this fun, easy and relatively quick post where I get to share my answers to four random questions that Cee poses on her blog each week.

As you may know, recently I’ve been sharing answers from my husband, my mother,  my youngest daughter and my second daughter, along with my own responses. This week I’ve asked my eldest daughter who lives in the UK to join me.  She’s a blogger too at The Wandering Darlings (just in case you didn’t know that!) and her latest post is Cor Blimey – Welcome to life in the UK. Stop by for a visit, she’s really good!  Tell her I sent you 🙂

It’s quite fun doing these posts with a friend, in fact I’d recommend it. I love the idea of getting to know a bit more about other bloggers (and other family members) and this is a great way of doing just that. Please note I never sit and think too long about the questions, I usually put in the first things that come into my head.  It’s much more fun that way 🙂

List some of your favorites types of teas.

My teatime buddy

Me: I am a tea addict, which I unashamedly  blame on my English born mother.  A good cup of tea solves all of life’s problems and can make all the difference to your day. I love a weak black tea with a little sugar or honey.  I enjoy mellow teas, a nice Earl Grey, peppermint, English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast, some green teas, Oolong tea and most herbal teas.  I rarely use tea bags at home preferring to use tea leaves and a teapot.  I also use my little teatime buddy pictured here or a tea diffuser of some sort.  I have a range of teapots and enjoy sitting and taking my time over a cup of tea.  It’s not something to be rushed.

Miss M: English breakfast no question.

If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?

Me: What a great question! Some days it would be Slow Down, other days it would be Give Way or Stop.   When I turned 50, I joined with my friend Ros, who was turning 60 and we had an awesome 110 party!  It was such fun and we used speed signs as decorations.  Here’s a selection of signs from my archives (most of which could apply to me at various times).

Miss M: 100 speed sign as I’m always going at a 100 miles an hour with work, blog and social life.

What are a couple of things could people do for you on a really bad day that would really help you?

Me: Leave me alone to sleep, read or just sit quietly with me.

Miss M: Ideally a plane ticket to another country to explore. Home would be the ideal to make me really really happy but if not possible anywhere new would be amazing. That would cheer me up straight away.

Irregardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: If you could be an athlete what would do do? Run Debbie Run

Me: As I’m a runner (something I’ve returned to in later life), I would be an Olympic sprinter.  I am hoping that I can continue running well into my old age and break a few records, just for fun of course, I’m not competitive or anything!

Miss M: I would have loved to be a professional tennis player when I was younger and think that I would probably still be the same now. Or as I play football in a ladies team in my village, I would love to have played professionally but nowhere near good enough for that!

Bonus questions:“What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?”  Because we all need to be reminded that there are many things in our lives to be grateful about.

Last week I was grateful to visit my parents-in-law, catch up with favourite my sister-in-law and my niece. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see my other sister-in-law or my nephew. It was the third anniversary of my brother-in-law’s sudden death and we are grateful for the time we can spend together remembering him.  We still can’t believe it’s been three years since the shock.  A day out had us revisiting many old haunts and enjoying the warmer temperatures than at home.We also got to stay with my daughter and her husband for a night and enjoyed a lovely dinner while catching up on news.

This week I’m home for a day or so then off to visit my sister and her husband for some more fun.  We have a few fun things planned and I will run in the annul Run Melbourne 2017 – read my post I CAN do this – for more information!  I’d appreciate all your positive thoughts on the day so I can actually run 🙂

Are you wondering What Share Your World is all about?

Cee’s Share Your World is a fun way to get to know each other through our blogs.  Cee posts four random questions for those who want to participate and it’s always interesting to read what others have written in their responses.

  • Answer four questions each week.
  • Bonus Questions are always the same “What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?”  Because we all need to be reminded that there are many things in our lives to be grateful about.

The idea is to answer the questions without overthinking them and just have FUN. Feel free to join in by copying the questions, writing your answers in a new post and linking back to Cee’s original post.

Thanks again for visiting my world.  You can see all my past Share Your World posts here if you’re keen – Share Your World

Feel free to join in with this fun challenge and remember I always love hearing from you if you’d like to leave me a comment.

Enjoy the week ahead everyone!

  2. So true! If we ‘look for the silver lining’ -we will always find a sense of inner happiness. It sometimes requires me to dig deep but Struggles are a part of life. There is much I wish to improve in my life but I am aware of how blessed I am in ways others aren’t. Oh, the road sign question is ace. Trying to think of a sign to describe mine ha ha! mmmh – Can I make up one? Keep moving!
