Getting excited for New Zealand

Can you believe I’ve been so busy and taken up with weddings, family issues and life in general that I haven’t yet managed to start getting excited for our upcoming trip to New Zealand’s North Island??

We only leave later this week, in 2 days time!

I’m still in Brisbane as I write this, having celebrated our daughter’s Wedding with a party for those friends and family who didn’t get to attend the big day in Fiji earlier in the month.

We arrive home later tonight, have a day to repack our bags and catch up on home stuff, then we’re off again.

For three weeks!

Last November we went to the South Island with some good friends and, among other things, we cycled the Otago Rail Trail.  We had such a great time we decided to visit the North Island this November.  We get along really well and I’m looking forward to another fun trip together. It’s been easy to work out our itinerary because it’s very fluid!

We have a car, a few nights accommodation and a cycle tour booked in but apart from that we’re free as a bird.

We plan to take it easy, stop when we feel like it and just enjoy the sights of New Zealand’s north.

If you have any suggestions to make, please let me know in a comment below, I’d be happy to hear your ideas.  Of course I’ll be blogging about it when we return, so stay tuned for updates 🙂

Who’s finally starting to get excited??  I tell you this retired lifestyle is very hard work….

PS. While I’m away I have a few scheduled posts written and my new series People of Interest will feature some more of my blogging friends as guests.  I will be checking in from time to time so don’t despair if I seem to drop off the radar for a while – I will be back!

You can also find Deb’s World here – I’d be delighted if you’d join me.

    1. Thanks for visiting my post. I’ve been over and had a look at your blog and see you’re doing quite a bit of travelling and working. You’ve been to a few of the places we visited too, I loved Lake Taupo. Good for you! Hope you continue to enjoy your travels.

    1. That’s funny you should say so…a lot of others have expressed similar thoughts!! I do admit to feeling life can’t continue at this pace but I’m coping pretty well so far!! 😊😊
