Blue: Week 16 of 52 week photography project

Welcome to Week  16 of our 52 week photography project where the theme was Blue.  We all interpreted Blue in various ways and it’s one of the things I enjoy about this project, we are all so unique!

I wasn’t sure what to do for this week but as I was looking out of the plane window, while flying into Brisbane, I spotted a blue truck on the Gateway Bridge below.  I had my camera out in a flash and snapped a few shots.

When I reviewed the photos I saw there were actually two blue trucks, some blue cars as well as the brilliant blue of the water in the photos.  I will admit that I did a little fist pump right there and then.  Never let a chance go by!

Again, like last week’s Spring shot, I used a real camera and feel quietly confident I’m starting to get the hang of it. The quality seems to be a bit better in terms of clarity and depth too.  When you consider this was taken through the plane window, miles above the bridge – well let’s just say I’m happy with it!

My accompanying words: Not one, but two BLUE trucks, spotted crossing the Gateway Bridge from the sky above Brisbane. Inspiration can be found in the most unusual places!

I know I say this most weeks, but what a week it was for great photos!

Alison shared the blue sky above the whitest of white sand dunes in WA.

Daniel’s photo was of a blue Vogue magazine in such a stylish way, it could actually be the cover of a Vogue magazine itself!

Grant collected a set of blue items for morning tea.

Melanie shared a photo an extinct array of video tapes with Titanic’s blue label standing out like a beacon.

Sharon captured some blueberries in a stylishly gorgeous shot.

Tim’s photo was about finding the right contrasts.

What’s the story behind the 52 week photography project I hear you ask?

You can read all about it here: 52 week photography project  – but basically I have joined with 6 photographers, of varying experience, to take a photo every week for a year, one theme at a time. That’s 52 weeks of photos!

I’ve been assured it’s all about creativity, not necessarily photographic expertise – we’re all unique in our interpretations.

I like to do a wrap-up post each week linking back to the 52 Week project blog’s page to share the fantastic talent of the group. My posts have a page of their own now here on my blog, so I can keep track of them easily: 52 weeks photography project

It’s great to be involved in such a creative challenge with a small supportive group.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on our various takes on any of these themes.  Be sure to click on the link to check out the full post over on the blog 52 Weeks Photography Group.

Happy photographing! Let me know what you think of our photos this week. As always I appreciate your thoughts, especially if you have any feedback to offer.  Next week’s theme is Geometry, any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Enjoy the week ahead!

Deb 🙂
