What to do for Week 17 of our 52 week photography project where the theme was Geometry?
Especially when I’m not a huge fan of anything mathematical at the best of times?
I will admit that I really struggled with this week’s theme and just couldn’t get my head around it, despite my mathematician husband declaring that geometry is all around us!!
As we’re currently travelling, I kept my eyes peeled for examples of all things geometrical and finally found something I understood to fit the theme. I also admit to loving some bright colours so this artwork suited me in more ways than one. What do you think? Did I nail it?
My accompanying words: Curves, lines, shapes and angles – this photo with its bright and colourful shapes, sits well with me, whether it’s actually geometry or not!
Another great week of photos on an interesting topic which I admit to not being a huge fan of!
Alison’s photos showed The Dish in Canarvon in WA.
Daniel’s photo was of a bike wheel with an explanation for his choice.
Grant’s view of geometry is that it’s everywhere around us and shared a photo of an elegant striped marlin.
Melanie shared a photo of an angular building, which I get!
Sharon captured the inside of a kiwi fruit and I loved her words this week too! We are very alike in our thoughts on geometry 😊
Tim’s photo was of some lovely succulents and pondered on which came first – the patterns or our ability to understand them?
I encourage you to go and have a look for yourself and let me know what you think.
What’s the story behind the 52 week photography project I hear you ask?
You can read all about it here: 52 week photography project – but basically I have joined with 6 photographers, of varying experience, to take a photo every week for a year, one theme at a time. That’s 52 weeks of photos!
I’ve been assured it’s all about creativity, not necessarily photographic expertise – and each week we’re all unique in our interpretations of the theme.
I like to do a wrap-up post each week linking back to the 52 Week project blog’s page to share the fantastic talent of the group. My posts have a page of their own now here on my blog, so I can keep track of them easily: 52 weeks photography project
It’s great to be involved in such a creative challenge with a small supportive group. I’d love to hear your thoughts on our various takes on any of these themes. Be sure to click on the link to check out the full post over on the blog 52 Weeks Photography Group.
Happy photographing! Let me know what you think of our photos this week. As always I appreciate your thoughts, especially if you have any feedback to offer. Next week’s theme is Letters in the world around us.
Enjoy your week ahead!
