Say hello to Melanie!

Welcome to this week’s wrap-up post
The theme for Week 38/52: A table-top object
I was a bit stumped for this week’s theme of a table-top object and with family visiting for Easter it all became a bit hard. That is, until my daughter and I were Face timing my eldest daughter who lives in England.
As she sat on top of the table, on my iPad, I suddenly had a brainwave – she could be my table-top object! As she is also a part of our 52 week photo project, she knew exactly what I meant when I said, wave to the camera Melanie!
She didn’t mind being objectified at all, but she did comment that I could have chosen a better angle of her to capture! I think she looks fine and my thought was that it’s better to be on top of the table than under it!
Photos from the group
The photos from the others in the group were a mixed bunch and quite a variety of items were captured. Here’s a summary in my words – you really need to click the link to read their words as well as see their photos for yourself!
Feel free to follow the link above to check them out for yourself. Maybe leave a comment if one of the photos particularly takes your fancy. We always appreciate hearing your thoughts 🙂
Daniel’s shot featured a model car at Grandma’s house, complete with a cream doily on the table.
Grant’s photo was of the almost full-moon captured sitting on the outside able as it rose. I watched this photo being taken and it wasn’t that easy to get it just right!
Melanie’s photo was a vintage tabletop sale which included a collection of flat caps and a bright yellow motoring of Britain map – the yellow really caught the eye!
Sharon admitted to struggling to find inspiration as well this week but settled on a simple egg in a vase on a table – a very elegant shot!
Tim’s photo was worthy of a food magazine stylist a bowl of fruit and vegetables sitting on a table.
You can read more about the story behind the project here: 52 week photography project – but basically I have joined with 5 photographers, of varying experience, to take a photo every week for a year, one theme at a time. That’s 52 weeks of photos!
On top of the table is better than under it!
With each photo we also submit some accompanying words, which can be just as interesting as the photo itself some weeks! This can include the subject, the setup, the story behind it and even the process we have used to get our photo for the week. It’s certainly extending my creative thought processes!
How did you like our interpretations this week? Let me know as I always appreciate hearing from you.
I can’t believe it’s only a few weeks now until we leave on our big trip to see Melanie in person!
Next week’s theme is: Self-portrait #4
Enjoy your week ahead.

That’s clever and actually looks a bit like a framed photograph. Love the idea of a themed photograph each week. Jill

Thanks Jill, it’s going by so fast but I’m enjoying thinking creatively most weeks. Sometimes I have nothing though….
