This week the theme for Terri’s Sunday Stills is Danger.
Stop, you are on dangerous ground!
As I walked into a shopping centre yesterday, my eye was drawn immediately to this inviting, but very dangerous shop.
Why so dangerous you ask?
For new grandparents, and maybe the not so new ones as well, this type of toy shop, or a book shop or a clothes shop – are dangerous due to the amount of money one can spend in a very short amount of time!!
Just FYI – I actually resisted the urge to spend any money – danger averted – for the moment anyway 🙂

Ha Ha, Deb, so easy to splurge on the grandkids! I have learned, tho, that there is little they really “need”…but I am a sucker for a good children’s book. It’s the teacher in me!

Yes it’s not so much the ‘need’ is it these days but the ‘wants’ Nancy. I love children’s books too and happened to have bought a few in recent days.

I just had to giggle at your perspective on danger at the toy store, Debbie! Any kind of shopping is dangerous for me, especially online as Hugh said. I do hope you bypass the danger from time to time and buy a few goodies for spoiling!

A great ‘out of the box’ way to look at this week’s theme on Sunday Stills, Debbie. There’s more danger for me when shopping, though, because I do all my shopping online. 😱

Thanks Hugh! Yes that’s me, I’m often the one who sees things from completely differently to others. But it makes for a fun responses sometimes. Online shopping is very easy and quite dangerous too. By the way did you notice I’ve changed my theme based on your suggestions in a recent post on Gutenberg happy themes? It took me a while to choose and make the changes but I’m quite happy with it so far.

Yes, I did. I especially like the header and your social media icons, Debbie. I could spend hours trying out new themes, but I have to stop myself. I always stick with the first one I like and then work on improving that theme. I’m pleased I motivated you to try it out and, as some have said to me, it wasn’t as dangerous or frightening as some thought it would be when changing blog themes. 😀

Thanks Hugh, it was fun(?) and a bit exciting to work on the new theme. It’s much easier these days than it was when I first started blogging. Hopefully it will work better now with the Gutenberg editor than my previous theme was. 🙂

Yes, changing themes is a lot easier now than it used to be, Debbie. I can remember it taking three days to change themes when I first did it back in 2015. I had to close my blog down for a long weekend. Yikes. 😱

I definitely wouldn’t have been able to get out of there without spending something! With two grandchildren here already and another one on the way, I think I spend more in children’s shops than anywhere else at the moment !
Like Miriam, I cannot resist a Lindt chocolate shop – thank goodness we don’t have one locally, I’d be the shape of a hippo and very poor 😉

Hubby and I have been running into such as this for years now (clothes, toys, computers, first car, etc.) Love spoiling the grandbabies!

Yes that’s so true Miriam, thankfully downtown Tumbarumba has a limit of shops. It’s when I get to the big smoke that I come unstuck!!

Children’s picture books are my danger items. I can’t resist a good picture book for kids (big or small).

Oh yes, I hear you on the shops, bed linen shops – dangerous with a capitol D, as is our local plant nursery with its gorgeous and very expensive gift section. Other than that. – big dogs on the beach until I know they’re not going to tear our Mr Tilly limb for limb. I’m always very cautious until I know the dog can be trusted with a smaller pesky puppy.
