I do love the shades of Autumn Deb – to see them contrasted with those hail stones certainly reminds me of what’s coming though……as they say on GoT – Winter is Coming! sigh….

Yes and in our case winter is HERE!!!!!! But the good news is that we’re off to Brisbane and some warmth next week 🙂 woohoo

Well Deb, it is a sudden cold snap we are having. I do so love the cold, although I do feel it. Bit envious of your view of Kosciusko from your verandah. What a treat. Do you ski?

We used to ski but gave up a few years ago. It always makes me smile to see the snow on the main range from our place and as I drive into town – doesn’t matter how many years I’ve been seeing it!!

I echo your sentiment. I think snowshoe walking might be the only kind of snow activity I would trust myself with now. But would dearly love to get on skis again.

I hadn’t realised you were in snow country. That is early though, I hope it doesn’t mean you’re going to get a really cold winter.

Me either Chris, I hope it’s not going to be too cold a winter as it’s quite an early cold snap! We’re off on a road trip for a few weeks up north to escape.

Always fascinating to me to be at the opposite end of the seasons. We are enjoying some of our first truly warm days. Stay warm and happy winter!

Hi Deb, It is interesting for me to remember that “Winter is coming” for a large part of our planet. I look out the window and see “Summer is coming”😊The Fall colours are a favourite for me. A beautiful photo!

Lovely photo. Very wintery and quite miserable here in Canberra – overnight frosts with heavy wind and rain at present. If we could see the hills I assume there would be some snow on them.

Thanks Albert, it really has turned quite chilly hasn’t it? Canberra was freezing on Monday when we were there. Stay warm and dry!

Yes we’re quite high up and snow often falls but not usually this early in the season. A lot of people don’t realise we get so much snow as we do in Australia!

What?! Ur in Australia? Which part? I thought only th e barest minimum snow falls down under… Oooh yes I remember the only time I visited Australia (Sydney, Brisbane and GoldCoast)we celebrated Christmas in July. Does your snow/winter happen only in middle of the year?

In the south of New South Wales and we’re quite high above sea level so get cold snaps. We can actually see the snow on the highest mountain of Australia Mt Kosciuszko from our front verandah. Yes snow season is until about September/October.
