Iceland revisited – the edge of the world may look like this

Iceland is a long way from Australia and it seems we have travelled from one edge of the world to another….and in some ways we have done just that!

From being on the edge of our seats with excitement

To being on the edge of a glacier

A waterfall thunders above us and edges us out of its spray

To sitting on the edge of the crack in the earth

And driving along the edge of THAT volcano

Walking along the edge of geothermal areas

And never ending lava fields

Iceland
Iceland

With the black sandy beaches with sharp edges in the sea

Iceland is the place to be!!

In memory of our trip this time last year and for #SundayStills where the theme is – you guessed it – edge – with Hugh as the host this week.

I’ve also written about my fear of edges here.

Have you been to Iceland? We had a fabulous time travelling with our grown up daughter in June 2018 – you can read more about it in my post 10 reasons why you definitely shouldn’t visit Iceland.

It’s been fun reliving these memories and sharing them with you.

I hope you enjoyed the trip to Iceland with me!!

I’d love to know what you think of my interpretation of the edge theme. I always enjoy seeing what others come up with for these weekly prompts 🙂

Have a great week ahead.

Deb

  1. Hi Debbie, I thought I’d start by saying that your pingback and comment are safely on my post for this week’s Sunday Still challenge. So, no need to resubmit them.
Stunning photography. I remember reading your Iceland posts from last year. Iceland is where the last ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ movie was filmed. From your photography, I can see why. It does look like the edge of the world where you could almost fall off. And to think that some people still believe the Earth is flat. So I guess they could fall off the edge?

  2. Hi Deb, Breathtaking photos of Iceland! We were there with our adult daughter in June 2017 for a one month camping trip. I could return to Iceland in a heartbeat. Something to think about, if you are interested: I sent a story about our trip to an Iceland publication last year and they published it. You always have engaging stories and some amazing photos. If you are interested, I could send you the link to my story and see if this is something you would like to do. After reading your post, maybe I should be planning another adventure to Iceland😊
