Friday Feature on Deb’s World
Winners & Losers #22
Welcome to Week 22 of my Friday roundup. It’s always fun seeing which stories take my interest from one Friday to the next and each week I wonder if this will be my last edition. Not because I don’t enjoy it but I wonder whether it’s outlived its run. While ever others find my posts interesting I’ll continue or at least until I don’t enjoy it any longer!
So, here are my other Winners and Losers for another week.
Musings on a Monday quote 🙂
This quote was spotted on the blackboard outside a book shop in the NSW town of Huskisson 🙂 I thought it was very fitting!
Great news – The Derry Girls are back on in Australia
And this news made me very HAPPY!!!!! I’ve managed to watch some of the new episodes and they’re just as good as the previous series.
Only in Australia!!
This segment is one of my favourites each week! Today we have a great video of a cockatoo lifting a brick which was supposed to stop him getting into the bin. Make sure you watch for his little shake!!
The Case of the Famous Pen-Friend
I was listening to a podcast from No Filter today, with Mia Freedman interviewing Australian actor, Richard Roxburgh, and of course my mind went straight back to when I was about 15. You see we met at a school French camp and became pen-friends – as you do!
It was a great interview and you can listen to it here:
I actually wrote a post about my connection to Richard Roxburgh, a few years ago – The Case of the Famous Pen-Friend . Are you a fan of his too?
World Breastfeeding Week 1-7 August
As I was a voluntary Breastfeeding Counsellor many years ago, and my daughter is currently breastfeeding her baby daughter, I just loved seeing this image.
This little boy has gone viral
What’s the story about this little Indigenous boy – you can read it here
And this little video of him dancing is fun!
Guns and mass shootings
I have no words for this type of horror but it makes the list as a definite loser in my books. Here’s Sammy J’s take on thoughts and prayers.
Ageing well in August
Now that July is over, Sue has a new challenge planned for August and again I’m joining her as her co-host. Everyday in August she has a prompt and will be sharing her knowledge and experience throughout the month either on her blog or on Facebook. Here’s the list, so feel free to join in if any of the daily prompts take your fancy! You can read her post here – August theme reveal – Ageing well in August.
I’m planning on doing a post each Saturday and linking up, so feel free to join us!
And to finish the week
