Shout Out Saturday#7 – who gets your shout out today??

Welcome to Shout Out Saturday

What’s it all about?

Shout Out Saturday is where I invite you to join in by leaving a link or a comment to something that has had an impact on you recently:

You can leave a link to your own blog, or maybe something you’ve read on someone else’s blog, or tell us about your favourite blogger, or simply share some good news, or even just drop in to say hello….

No Rules

  • no strings attached
  • simply leave a comment below
  • check out any other links if you want to
  • use the hashtag #ShoutoutSaturday on social media
  • no need to get caught up in too much in compulsory sharing or other rules
  • keep it family friendly
  • Saturday can cover any day of the week

But first a quote…

I shared this Red Tractor Design quote on my Facebook page this week – it says a lot! I have to say this year has not been all that good, in fact I could go as far to say it’s been downright sh**ty in many ways.

Things that seem overwhelming need to be broken down – one step at a time, one bite at a time – yes I know it’s easier said than done. This quote is a good reminder to us all, no matter what we’re facing.

My Shout Out(s) this week go to….

1. Sue’s podcast and, in particular, this episode

My friend Sue, who I’ve mentioned many times before, has a new podcast and Youtube channel called Conversations with Women Living Well After 50 – and it’s great, covering a variety of topics that relate to Women over 50.

The latest episode is an interview with another friend of mine, author Joanne Tracey. It was such a treat to hear how Jo started writing, how her characters come alive to her, what sort of process she goes through to get published and how she overcomes writers block.

Sue always has interesting guests and this episode was no exception – I highly recommend it. You can find it here:

2. This video promoting our local area

The Snowy Valleys, between the mountains and the plains, invites you to “Come Find Us”. Pristine waterways, gorgeous vistas, rolling hills, world-class cool-climate wines, it’s all here waiting for you.

So whether you prefer hiking, biking, boating and exploring; discovering the freshest tastes direct from the farm gate; adventuring in Kosciuszko National Park; or relaxing amidst the natural beauty of the quiet landscape, the Snowy Valleys is the place to come find your escape.

Get yourself to the Snowy Valleys – because here, relaxing escapes are now in season. Source – Visit Snowy Valleys Facebook page

If you look very carefully you will see two familiar bike riders crossing a bridge on the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail (it’s at the 2:50 mark)

Care to share something??

Are you keen to share something? I hope so – all you have to do is leave a comment or a link!

Has someone done something nice for you, have you witnessed a random act of kindness, have you read something interesting or watched a good movie lately?

Anything really – it’s over to you!

As always, feel free to share and get the word out there #ShoutoutSaturday

Thanks again for all your support, it’s much appreciated.

Deb 🙂

  1. My shout-out is to Sue for featuring me on her podcast. It was so much fun to do. I’m also shouting out to Lady Flo for making the pumpkin scones I’ve been cooking all week (for my new book) famous – even if it’s not her recipe that I’m using.

    1. Thanks Jo for joining me, I really enjoyed your interview while I was driving the other day. It felt like you were both in the car with me 🙂

  2. Hi Deb, thank you so much for the shout out and I’m loving the new experience of hosting a podcast. Jo was a delight to chat to and it was difficult to end the conversation. I’d like to give a shout out to my son who recently became engaged and is happy and contented – which is really what Mum’s want for their children. I’d also like to give a shout out to my daughter Rachel who helped counsel me last week when I felt overwhelmed – she is so wise! I actually wrote a post about my experience.

    1. My pleasure Sue, you and your guests are such inspirational women living well after 50 that I can’t help but share your posts and spread the word. Your post is a great reminder to us all, so thanks for sharing.

Huge congrats to your son for his recent engagement and your daughter certainly is a wise one! So happy for you xx

  3. I want to give a shout out to many of the bloggers I follow who have struggled, and continue to struggle as we all make our way through this pandemic. I have read a number of heartfelt posts from women trying to figure out their purpose in this life, and where blogging fits into it, if at all. Questioning what is really important. Feeling lost and lonely and somewhat upside down. I appreciate their honesty and their willingness to share. By doing so, they have helped me to feel less alone.

    1. Hi Leslie, I couldn’t agree more – many are looking at what they normally do and wondering if it’s still relevant with all that is going on in the world. I have had moments and thoughts but have come to realise that blogging gives me a focus and I need that just now. We understand we aren’t alone and I too love their honesty and openness. Thanks so much for joining me today and for your lovely heartfelt shout out xx

  4. Hi Deb, we’ve had a very busy household this week. Shout out to my younger son Daniel who finally scored his first job as a content writer! He’s been working towards this goal since he left school, and achieved his degree about 2 years ago. He couldn’t seem to break into the industry though so he kept studying and working retail jobs. He finally reached his goal so I’m so proud of him.
We’ve had tradesmen here the last few weeks because we’re landscaping our front yard. My husband’s done a lot of it himself – he’s out there laying 100sqm of turf this weekend. So shout out to him too for all the hard work he’s putting in to improve our property.
Here’s my latest blog post – I achieved one of my blogging goals – to become an affiliate of two health and wellness companies. I’d love some feedback on this please! https://midlifestylist.com/2020/09/17/boost-your-mood-with-scented-products/
