Before you give up, think about why you held on so long

Water Droplets

Sunday Stills is all about Water Droplets this week and I confess to having tried, with varying success, to capture that moment just before they drop, hence the title of today’s post.

Before you give up, think about why you held on so long.

I’ve also enjoyed trying to capture water drops on flowers.

I captured these drops of dew a few years ago and still love them!

Then there’s the rain drops and the sunroom. I love the abstract look!

What’s not to love about water droplets?

Keep holding on for as long as you can!

Thanks for joining me today, it’s been fun looking at drops of Jupiter, I mean water 🙂

Enjoy your Sunday and let me know if you also try to capture the perfect, but elusive, to me anyway, drop shot. How did I go?

Deb xx

  1. That quote is wonderful and so are all the photos!! I took a photo of rain drops on a smoketree flowerhead a few years ago and it is one of my favourite shots. It actually looks like a chandelier!

  2. That took me a long time to scroll through your comments. Go Deb. This post was received by many and I can see why. I took a raindrop photo that had me in it as the photographer! Don’t ask me to find it in my multi-thousands of pics!!

    1. Thanks Denyse! I’m often surprised with what resonates with others and can never predict it, so I just write and share what I feel like! Sometimes it works well 🙂

  3. Hi Deb, I love that saying and it’s very true for how I feel some days! Your photos are truly beautiful. My lens always seems to fog up if I try to take photos in the rain. Plus I’m too impatient to really give it a decent go. Regards, Christina

    1. Yes that song is a great one to sing along to! I just couldn’t get the song title out of my head so had to include it somewhere in my post :). Glad you noticed! I hadn’t realised I had so many droplet photos in my archives!

  4. Hi Deb – I love photos of water droplets (I even have a Pinterest board of Dandelions and Dewdrops) and Drops of Jupiter’s chorus “she walks like Summer and acts like rain” always touches my heart for some unknown reason.

    1. Hi Sue, yes the quote really appealed to me for lots of reasons and it suited the water droplets hanging on too. Thanks – it was good going through my archives and sharing some old and newer photos of water droplets, who knew I had taken so many over the years??

  5. I found your post on Twitter, Debbie! You really have the lens captures of water droplets down pat, so many gorgeous ones! I remember that song Drops of Jupiter. I end up capturing the drops better with my phone zoomed in. Yeah, not patient…I’ve been known to get the spray bottle out and hurry the droplet process along, LOL!

    1. Thanks Jen, I love trying to get the water droplets and some worked better than others. Most are from my archives so it wasn’t too hard to collate them all. No problem with giving up every now and again!
