It’s a heatwave here
As I sit here writing, in Australia’s capital Canberra, soaring temperatures are the talk of the day. The conditions call for extra care of vulnerable people, the young and the aged – it’s been warm for a few days in a row and won’t be cooling down anytime soon according to the weather people. Currently it’s 36 degrees outside, with a baking hot sun. Typical summer! Tomorrow is even hotter.
The Mathematician and I are looking after our 2 and a bit year old granddaughter while our daughter and son-in-law are in hospital having just delivered their second baby, a gorgeous little man (more on this in a future post). So with it being too hot for outside play we are forced inside, until the temp goes down enough for us to venture out into the yard for some water play. We enjoy the water play just as much as she does, if I’m being honest!
Fog and clouds
So when I saw the Sunday Stills prompt of fog and clouds I immediately felt cooler by looking at my photos. It’s good to share the weather around!

Sometimes we need the fog to remind ourselves that all of life is not black and white

Just a few of my favourite shots for you 🙂
Are you a cold weather or a hot weather person?
Thanks Terri for another great prompt for #SundayStills – remember Sunday can be any day! You can check out Terri’s post here and others who have commented with links to their foggy, cloudy and more often than not, wintry posts.
Next week’s prompt is your favourite landscape.
Thanks for joining me again this week!
Go boldly and always take the weather with you!

I hope you have air con at your daughter’s! We are experiencing the heatwave here too but a little less than at your temp but not much different. Thank goodness for air conditioning.
Congratulations on the birth of your 4th grandchild, second grandson…and getting to care for his big sister! All part of the fun of grandparenting.
No fog pics for me when my post goes live later in the week but definitely clouds!
Denyse.

Warm weather for me please. We have snow this morning and that’s put paid to my run. Although I’m going to try in a bit, see if it’s slippery or slushy!! Enjoy your sun – it’s pretty depressing over here tbh 😢xx

Yes we’ve snow shots from our daughter in Cheddar, looks amazing but feels cold! Hope your run went well and wasn’t too slippery. Keep your chin up, hopefully things improve for you all soon, doesn’t sound good at all!

I’m not a great one for high temperatures, but I’d rather it was higher here at present. We don’t even have 36 Fahrenheit at present, send it’s snowing ❄️

Lots of snow over there by the sounds of things Clive. I’ll try to send some warm sunshine your way.

Funnily enough it stopped snowing just after I left my comment! We’ve had sunshine today, but it’s still bitterly cold out there. But as it’s winter I guess I can’t complain 😉

Beautiful squares amongst these, and I am warm weather rather than hot – so mid to high 20s which means perfect for being outside and walking

Yes that’s a perfect temperature Becky!

Love that second cloud gallery. I’m a sunshine gal but I do like a few pretty clouds. Or even a lot…so long as they don’t take over 🙂 🙂 And meanwhile Chicago is in minus figures! 😦

Isn’t it funny how we can feel cooler just by looking at images that depict a particular temperature, Debbie? I’m glad you are there helping out with your darling grannies. Congratulations on your new grandson! Your images of clouds are stunning (as usual 😁). I really like the image of the green fields with the low clouds, layered upon each other! Take care and I’ll try to bottle up a little snow and send some your way!

Yes isn’t it funny how a photo has that power Terri! We loved having time with our grandchildren. I’m so lucky to have some of my 4 reasonably close by. I really miss little Dottie in England though.

Congratulations on the birth of your new grandson. This is so awesome!
I love how when it is hot there it is cold here and vice versa. Thankfully, it’s not that cold here right now — it could certainly be worse! 😀
I love your photos and your Lockwood Huie quote.
Wishing you a great week ahead!

We have 36 degrees here too this week, only Fahrenheit! I had to convert to Celsius to see how hot you are there! We have a maritime climate here in the Seattle area so I’m not used to hot weather. We’ll occasionally reach the 90’s in the summer and after a few days of melting I’m ready for cooler weather. I love your misty fog and sunlight pictures with beautiful golden scenery!

You ask if I’m a hot or cold weather person? The truth really is neither! I’m happiest in moderate warmth – give me 24-28 degrees and I’m smiling 🙂 We’ve had a miserable cold grey January in London (so miserable that even though I don’t like snow I was pleased to see it last weekend as it brightened things up!) I’m yearning for some warmth but I’d really struggle with the temperatures you’re experiencing!

I get what you mean, that mid range temp is perfect weather! Thankfully it cooled down here and we’re back on track for summer. Hope you get some warmth soon.
