I cannot believe….

#LifethisWeek with Denyse, has the prompt of Cannot

I cannot believe how much fun I had at a kid’s concert

I cannot believe how much I enjoyed Bluey’s Big Play today in Canberra. The Mathematician and I took our 2 year old granddaughter to the concert/stage show and didn’t really know what to expect. We knew there’d be heaps of excited little kids! And yes there were 🙂

It was so much more than I was expecting – 45 minutes of fun, laughter, creativity, emotion, bubbles, music and simple pure joy. I don’t want to say too much in case you’ve got plans to go see the show, but I will say I’d be surprised if anyone left disappointed.

Watching our granddaughter’s face during the show was pure delight, and at the end she turned to me and said ‘do it again??’ That means it was good!!!

Unfortunately we couldn’t do it again.

For those of you not in the know, Bluey is an Australian kid’s TV show which is just as much fun for adults to watch as for the kids. It’s always spot on with the way it tackles topics and portrays parenting and family in a fun, positive but always ‘real’ way. Each episode is around 7 minutes and I just love watching them – without or without my grandchildren! I have been known to be moved to tears after watching some of the episodes.

Bluey is an inexhaustible six year-old Blue Heeler dog, who loves to play and turns everyday family life into extraordinary adventures, developing her imagination as well as her mental, physical and emotional resilience. Winner of The International Emmy for Kids: Preschool 2019 Source

Life is good

I also cannot believe I’m now a grandmother of 4 beautiful grandchildren, with a new grandson born late last week, which is why we were on babysitting duty! Two granddaughters and two grandsons, one born each year since 2018 – how lucky am I?

Life is good 🙂

That’s me for the prompt of ‘cannot’… what about you?

Have you ever been surprised like this?

Is there something you feel you ‘cannot do?’ What’s stopping you?

Have a great week ahead and thanks Denyse for another great prompt that got me thinking and sharing!

Being bold is all about letting your inner child out to play once in a while!

  1. Oh I can! I loved taking my grandkids to the Wiggles way back. The original Wiggles. Seeing their faces and having a dance was the best. I am an Infants teacher at heart and always love being a kid!! Ask my grandkids.

I watched some Bluey eps not long ago, and still getting over the news Bluey is a girl. They sure did turn all the blue for boys things on their head.

What a week you have had…tiring, exciting, joyful and more. Welcomng a new grandson topped it off I reckon!

    1. Haha, yes I took my youngest to see the original Wiggles many years ago and she loved it all! As did I 🙂 It’s been such a big week with lots of news and other things happening too. But that’s life isn’t it? You’ve had big celebrations too, well done! See you next week for #lifethisweek

  2. I just love Bluey. Such a wonderful show for kids to watch full of fun and family. I went to a Wiggles concert last year, before everything was locked down, it was an adults concert and such fun to revisit all those songs I sung with my kids. Grandkids are the best, I want more!

    1. I remember taking my youngest daughter to the Wiggles many many years ago. I sometimes can’t believe they are still performing, with a few changes I will admit! I agree Veronica, grandkids are the absolute best! Thanks for stopping by.

  3. I’ve never watched Bluey so know / knew nothing about it / him other than that it’s hugely popular and adults seem to like the show as much as kids! I hear a lot about the music, so guess that must be a big part of it.

I often feel sorry for my parents only having the one grandchild but they’ve always adored her to death so guess that’s better than none!

    1. Yes the music is really good Deb, with some classics mixed in for good measure! I think one grandchild is enough to understand the love we have for them. Thanks for your visit.

    1. It really was good Jen and I have a new appreciation for the writers and performers, they all did a great job. I’m so lucky to be able to see her and do these types of things. I feel for you missing your grandchildren x

  7. I love this. O was surprised by the sheer joy of having my granddaughter for 12 days while her mother was awaiting the birth of my second granddaughter. ‘Lela” made the New Year such a bright spot. It had been a long time since my house was lit up with the life of a 2 year old.
