Hello!
April seems to be a ‘getting out of my comfort zone’ month with me contributing almost daily to Becky’s Squares and now taking on a new post as well!
I’m taking a break from my usual blogging routine and I must say I’m enjoying it! A change is as good as a holiday so they say 🙂

I saw this fun post on Stevie’s blog yesterday and thought to myself – I could have a go at that!
It’s the first time I’ve seen this blog hop but I presume it’s been around for a while from the posts on Stevie’s blog. Such fun and I always say I’m an open book!
I’m always keen to try new things on my blog so here we go with Open Book Blog Hop, where the topic is:
They’re making an action figure of you. Describe the toy and accessories. (Do you have a catch phrase? Favourite items, clothes, hair style?)
My action figure would have big brown eyes that crinkle to slits as I smile and laugh – I tend to lose my eyes when I’m happiest 🙂
It will also have a big smile, as I’m known for having what’s called a ‘Debbie Smile’. When we get together for family photos everyone says now do a Debbie smile 🙂 I’m quite happy about this as I feel it’s part of my legacy!
My hair is in that not short/not long stage but I have to say it’s the longest it’s been in many years and I’m enjoying this change in style. I will insist on some Farah Fawcett flicks just for old times sake, and if you know what I’m talking about then you’re the same vintage as me 🙂
Some well placed beauty spots on my face will complete my look!
I might also add a few centimetres to my doll’s height if that’s OK, being shortish can make life a little hard to get noticed.
My action figure will be dressed in active wear, not because I’m always active, but because it’s comfortable and I do like to think I’m more active than I am! Having said that I do walk or ride my bike most days.
I have been told my legs are still good despite my advanced age as a newly minted 60 year old – I’ll take that – so shapely legs on my action figure will be a must.
Accessories will include my Trek ebike, purple helmet and colourful sunglasses – see edited photo below!

I don’t have time for fancy handbags, maybe a backpack or simple purse that holds my reading glasses (bright red ones of course), my phone and a pen.
I will have to insist that I have a phone in my accessory pack as I can’t do much without it – I know I’m sad!
Now I believe this photo depicts much of my action figure already – I have been called WonderWoman Debz and loved the nickname.

Apparently I can be a force to be reckoned with, as another name I got called was a Hummingbird on Speed. One of my daughters was shocked and asked, do you even know what speed is mum? The fact that I’d been working as the Manager of Education in a Men’s Correctional Centre for over 20 years, and there wasn’t much I hadn’t seen or heard during that time, didn’t seem to register with her! And no I don’t advocate speed.
As to a catch phrase – I’m always polite and love to chat to random people wherever I go, so maybe a helloooooo, how are things? I heard the saying recently, do you feel as good as you look and really liked it but every time I try to use it, I get the words mixed up and it somehow loses its punch. It’s to be used instead of saying you look well, as I always take that as saying you’ve put on weight!
So there you go – my action figure is complete, whether anyone would buy this doll or not I don’t really care but I’ll be happy to be immortalised in this way!
How about you?

Hi Deb – it looks like you had a blast putting this one together (and gave it a great deal of thought!) Loved your Wonder Woman Debz figurine and all the reasons why you’d look similar to it. A fun Wednesday post and a nice change to your squares. x

No problem Stevie, always give credit where credit is due is my saying – maybe I should have included that as my catch phrase! Enjoy your week on the bike 🙂

What a great post, Deb. I love your action figure. I am also quite short but I find shiny shoes and flowery pants in the board room do as good a job of intimidating men as being tall.
