Photo editing course
I’ve recently taken a four week photo editing course, aimed at smartphone users, with a small group of friends. It was conducted over zoom for an hour a week, with homework given to us for the following week – mainly just practising our skills and getting used to some of the settings available to us. It was really good fun and I learnt a lot, and doing it with friends was the icing on the cake. We all know each others’ style and like to be cheerleaders, and instead of being critical, we are supportive and encouraging. It really worked well.
Here are my final compilation photos, aimed at producing a ‘feature’ photo and complementary shots to support it. The course was aimed at improving our photos for our blogs and this ‘feature’ idea made us stop and think about what we are trying to focus our photos on and showing the big picture.
Getting lost in Autumn

For this feature I wanted to capture the glorious autumn colours and some of the various activities you can do around our area, with the main colour tying it all together, being orange.
Adding a little yellow to your day

In this collection I tried to show my sunroom, on a wintry day and how the yellow accessories managed to brighten it up. The views are from the inside looking out.
Debbie Flynn was very encouraging and gentle with us, but still managed to push us out of our comfort zones. She was great! Her website can be found here: Debbie Flynn Photography
I am now definitely more ‘mindful’ when I take a photo and can do the basics of editing with more confidence.
Happy Wednesday!
Hope all is well with you. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Deb 🙂

The sunroom looks good after its mini-makeover Leanne, and the yellow makes me smile 🙂 The course was very informative but we enjoyed working with each other too of course.

It was good to take the course with friends Aimer as we knew each other’s styles before we started. We were able to encourage each other and learn at the same time. Thanks for your thoughts!
