Tree in falling snow – #TreeSquare!

Tree Square – Day #2

A few weeks ago we had a light snowfall here in Tumbarumba, and my iPhone 12Pro caught the snow in its own amazing way. I did nothing special to get this photo, apart from point and shoot. You can see the phone camera used its own settings to slow down the shot and capture the snow falling in long streaks – it was superb – but I can’t take much credit for it!!

This is the same tree featured in my Day 1 Tree Square post, where the rainbow was seen through the bare branches. This tree is literally just metres off our front deck, where views of the snowcapped main range in the distance can be seen on a clear day.

Snow was falling, so much like stars filling the darkness.

I know this one isn’t a square photo, but it complements my square photo above, and I really wanted to share it with you. I honestly can’t believe I haven’t already shared these photos on my blog before now – but here they are! I was pretty happy with them!

Becky’s square theme for July is Trees – it’s a monthly challenge where she posts a square photo every day and she invites us all to join in, either daily or spasmodically as the whim takes us!

For those of you feeling the heat in the Northern Hemisphere, I hope my wintry shots offer you some relief.

Deb 🙂

PS: A brief apology (#sorrynotsorry) to some readers who may get tired of my extra posts and my photos of trees – but it’s a warm wintry welcome to my world! I have a lot of trees around my place so this is something I’m going to enjoy!

  1. These are amazing, Deb! How does your iPhone do this? I have such a terrible time taking low-light shots!

I particularly love your 2nd image – the bicycle is so artistically placed!

The Mary Oliver quote just wrapped everything up so beautifully!

    1. I’m not really sure how my phone does it but it seems to be automatic in low light situations. I was thrilled with the outcome! Thanks for your lovely comment Ju-Lyn and yes that Mary Oliver quote was just right!

  2. Stunning photos Deb and i remember seeing the one of the snow falling on Instagram. You really are very clever. P.S. You don’t need to apologise for the frequency of when you post! Do what is right for you and you always post quality so what’s the problem? Have a lovely weekend. I’m inspired by your challenge but at the moment I can’t take anything more on so will enjoy seeing your posts and well as Jo’s who is also joining in. xx

    1. Yay, so glad you are joining in too Jo. Your Sugar Pine walk pics are brilliant and such great memories of what it once was. Sadly no more! The Mary Oliver quote really spoke to me.
