Under the tea tree

A while back I tidied out my cupboards, but didn’t want to throw out some of my quirky collection of tea cups and tea pots – so I made a tea tree with them instead hanging them under the tree in the garden.

I had to explain to the Mathematician I was being creative! What I hadn’t given much thought to, was how he would go mowing under the trees, without hitting his head on my creations! Needless to say my tea tree didn’t last very long!

I have a love of tea and all the paraphernalia that goes with it – and it seems I’ve enjoyed photographing a few items over the years! Who’d have thought?

What else is under the trees?

This collection of photos for under the trees shows just how diverse, beautiful and useful trees can be – they can be a shady roof while lying in a hammock; they can be full of wisdom and history; they can be a resting place when you need a break from walking; a home for fairies and a place to park the car when out in the bush 🙂

These are just a few of the ways trees can enrich our lives – apart from the obvious ones of course.

I’m posting spasmodically although I seem to have got into the habit of posting almost every day so far, it’s fun!     Your tea set with the feet are too adorable! and those unexpected teatimes under the trees – fabulous!
    Sorry your creative tea tree had to be dismantled – having Mathematician brained while mowing the lawn wouldn’t be very good, I suppose.

  5. Love the fragrance of tea tree oil…so thought this was going to be a post about the tea tree where they get the oil – don’t know if they even get the oil from a tree. But oh, this is so much better. Your tree is so magical. Have seen bird feeders made from cups and saucers on Etsy but this is just so darling. You are so fun and so clever and must be just the best grandmother!!

  12. What a great idea to hang teapots, cups and mugs from a tree, Debbie. It has a very ‘Alice in Wonderland sort of feel about it. I’m sure the Queen of Hearts would have loved your idea too. Was there a rabbit hole under that tree?

  13. oh what fun! Love this idea – I have a gnome in the swing on one of my trees, and yup heads get banged when mowing!!

    and loving all your other under trees too, as Debbie says imaging being there in the warmth

    1. Thanks Debbie, it definitely isn’t summer or warm here at the moment but it’s good to look back on photos and get that feeling. I can’t wait to lie in the hammock looking up at the sky on a warm summer’s day.
