Looking up – Day 20 of #Squareodds
Out riding my bike the other day, I looked up into the beautiful blue sky and noticed not one, but two plane trails overhead!!
Now this shouldn’t be odd, but it was. Planes haven’t been flying as often as they used to and we’ve all got out of the habit of seeing them up there. Hopefully that is starting to change now.
The Australian International Border open to tourists tomorrow for the first time in almost two years.

Life has definitely been a bit odd in recent times hasn’t it? How are you coping?
Square Odds
Becky has her Squares challenge running for the month of February, where we can share any photo as long as it’s square, on the theme of ODD – #SquareOdds.
You can see Becky’s Day 20 post here – The Square Odds
As Becky says:
If you have not yet joined in the fun of the Squares Challenge this month, we are looking for square photographs that are;
- Differing from the usual or not happening often (ie oddballs, the exceptions and follies)
- Separated from its set or mate (eg odds and ends or maybe odd socks or shoes)
- Not divisible exactly by two (ie odd numbers) or the number is unknown (ie 300 odd birds)
- Or simply something that you find odd, afterall oddness like beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I hope you enjoyed my square photo today.
I’m enjoying keeping an eye out for some odd squares and refuse to believe I’m addicted!

It was quite sad when we began to see plane trails again after lockdown. Even if they’re attractive in their own right.

Like you I am in mixed thoughts over return of vapour trails and that’s with me flying too! Love we can travel once more but wish there was a more environmental way

Yes. We have a trip planned for May, which involves travel through several countries. We’d planned a rail journey, but even now, with restrictions waning, we can’t be sure of not being caught up in some quarantine dilemma in transit. So it’s back to the plane π¦

So frustrating isn’t it – really hope by 2023 we have found a more helpful way of living with this.

Things are definitely changing but thereβs not a lot of activity in the sky over here in WA. At least that Iβve noticed.

We live near Heathrow Airport. It was strangely quiet during our border closure periods but I’m seeing many more planes now although still not quite back to the normal levels of activity. Glad your borders are reopening too!

I can imagine how desperate you are! Whereabouts in England do they live?

It is indeed! We were there in summer 2020 when we were allowed to travel for ‘staycations’ and had a long weekend in Wells – a beautiful city!

Missing you at Sunday Stills, Debbie, but it’s great to read that Australia is opening back up! After 2 years, that would be odd to see jet trails. Here’s hoping we all get back to normal soon!

Thanks Terri, it’s been a busy time and not having a pet to share this week I thought I’d just read everyone else’s posts π I’ll be back don’t worry!

So odd. Planes are few and far between, but masks are everywhere. Who would have guessed!

Yes it’s certainly been a strange time.

I remember when planes first started flying again after 9-11. The empty skies were surreal, and I’d never been so happy to see contrails.

I love your square photo Deb. Such a lovely idea! We are so lucky here in Australia to have beautiful blue skies (most of the time)! I guess we will be hearing & seeing a lot more planes now the international border is open!

Yes Min, the whole world is changing again. I really want to get on a plane to go to England to see my daughter and granddaughter but will wait a while yet I think.

It’s great when a title has two meanings, it’s fantastic when it has three, and spectacular when all of them are full of optimism π Thank you for spreading optimism!

I have seen two, though not much.
