What exactly do you do when Taking Stock?
If you take stock, you pause to think about all the aspects of a situation or event before deciding what to do next. Source
To answer the prompts, I usually give myself a few moments to process the word and then write the first thing that comes into my mind – not exactly what I should do according to the definition above but, hey it works for me!

It’s a fun activity to do – not too much thinking involved and I’m usually happy with my immediate thoughts!
Sometimes life gets too busy, and complicated, so it’s fun to spend a few minutes on simple back to basics thought processes. I hope you also enjoy reading my responses.
Making: Travel plans…exciting times ahead!
Cooking: Eggs for breakfast
Drinking: Tea…always tea. But trying to add more water into the mix.
Reading: So many books! But I’ve recently found a Young Adult series ‘The Matilda Saga’ by Jackie French which I’m loving for some reason. I’m obviously older than the target audience but it’s been a delightful find. Reminder that we have our monthly What’s on Your Bookshelf link up party coming up on Friday 18 March – you’re welcome to join us!
Wanting: Some good news for a change!
Looking: Forward. Onwards and upwards and all that jazz.
Smiling: This quote.

Playing: Not Wordle or any of the other variants – my family is all addicted but I’m not getting sucked in!
Wasting: Time scrolling – there’s a word for that!
Wishing: Wishing you well – wherever you are!
Enjoying: The Autumnal temperatures.
Waiting: For mail to arrive – I’m expecting an exciting parcel any day now.
Liking: That Season 2 of Upload has been released on Netflix.
Wondering: How do people who have lost everything (again) in floods, bushfires, wars – keep going and pick up to start over?
Loving: At the moment this song by Lord Huron is on constant repeat.
Hoping: Things work out as planned.
Marvelling: That I will be going up in a hot air ballon this week in Canberra’s Balloon Spectacular. So excited – despite my fear of heights anxiety!
Needing: To lose a few kilos.
Smelling: Liniment after a good massage – nothing better!
Wearing: My beautiful bright skirt – I always get positive comments when I wear it.

Following: Some very engaging bloggers.
Noticing: The season is changing.
Knowing: I don’t like being taken for granted so I can now stand up for myself when required.
Thinking: Overthinking more often than not!
Bookmarking: Books to read on my BorrowBox library app.
Opening: Messages from my girls – every few days they send me updates on how my grandchildren are going, with photos and videos and I love getting them!
Giggling: I gave my sister a ‘questionable (?)’ gift for her 60th birthday recently and we giggled together over the phone for a good five minutes – lets’ just say she won’t be showing it to mum! It came in this wrapping 🙂

Feeling: Pretty good – all things considered!

These prompts come from an earlier version of Denyse’s Taking Stock – since then Denyse has moved to an alphabetical list which I used here last month. I’ve decided I will alternate between both lists as I write my monthly Taking Stock posts 🙂 I like to mix things up!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Taking Stock this month, it’s such a great way to get a few thoughts down!
What’s your take on Taking Stock?
Have a great week ahead.
Deb xx

Love this Deb because the prompts make you think! Your posts always make me smile and of course the colourful clothes lift anyone’s spirits. I have refused to even find out what Wordle is so I’m with you on that one. Enjoy the rest of your month and see you at What’s On Your Bookshelf? later this week. #lifethismonth

Love a good taking stock post! Love your brightly coloured skirt and dress – have you seen Little Party Dress? They have some really fun and colourful designs. Every time I wear my LPDs I get stopped in the street and I’m hardly a fashion icon! And do you think we are the only people not playing wordle?! I do like to buck a trend! Have a fun rest of the month!

I do love a Taking Stock post Deb, and this one is great. I can understand why you would like the Matilda Saga. I’m a huge fan. I love your skirt. It would brighten up any day. I would love for someone to give me a Questionable gift!

I’m so pleased you’ve read the Matilda Saga too Jen, they’re great stories any age can relate to not just Young Adults. My gift wasn’t too bad just a bit of language mum wouldn’t appreciate! Yes the skirt is one of my all time faves.

Will get onto my book post – thanks for the reminder! Will also do a taking stock as I don’t think I’ve done one in awhile. That skirt is Fabulous! I’d compliment you too if I saw it. How exciting (tho scary for me) with the ballooning! Look forward to hearing about it. Listening to the song now. Not heard of it before. Exciting on the travel plans – seeing grandkids?

Great Taking Stock post Deb. How exciting that you’re going up in a hot air balloon! That is something I’d like to do but I think I’m too scared to. I am more of a scaredy cat as I get older – such a shame! Love your bright skirt and dress. I have some clothes from Little Party Dress too! I’m also hoping for more good news in a world thats been full of far too much bad news. Take care and hope you’re having a good week!

I LOVED reading this and that photo of you and your bright skirt and great legs..go lady! Thanks for sharing the news about your #takingstock & using two versions. Hot air balloon. I think that will be marvellous. I am still enjoying wordle. In fact, it comes first these days because the minute I open my Ipad to anything but, up will come someone with a comment about that day’s one. It’s good you and your sister share a sense of fun. I commented on your sister’s blog when you shared the link. So much has happened for her and her family hasn’t it? Thank you so much for linking up your blog post for the FIRST #LifeThisMonth Link Up on Denyse Whelan Blogs. I do hope you return for the next one: Monday 11 April 2022. Warm wishes,Denyse.
