A tragic accident at age 17, resulting in a Bravery Award from the Queen, didn’t deter Debbie from travelling the world. A young retiree, after being made redundant from her 22 year career managing education programs in a men’s correctional centre, she now loves reading, blogging, riding her ebike and a good cup of tea! Also known as Granny Debs to her 4 grandchildren.

Amazing what pioneer folks did to survive, Debbie. We have a nearby museum called the Spokane House that we visited last Fall. Beaver pelts were considered currency. Interesting stuff! Have a great week!

I know Terri, they were so hardy back then and made the most of whatever they had to hand. These museums show us so much of how life was back then and as you say they’re so interesting!

That photo speaks 1000 words!
Visiting our local museums (as well as museums when we travel) offer so much incredible information. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks Donna, I thought the story was there in the photo without the need for more words! These museums are so good for keeping this sort of history alive and I enjoy sharing these interesting snippets 🙂

Sure is Toni! Fox skins aren’t my preference for a quilt but luckily I didn’t live back then!
