ICYMI = In Case You Missed It
A look back at my month of blogging.
During May I wrote 14 posts covering a range of topics – in case you missed any of them (ICYMI)
For the month’s What’s on Your Plate (WOYP) challenge, I shared a post about laughter and food and an outing with friends on a cold almost-winter’s day.
I joined Sunday Stills four times during the month – with posts about a range of prompts from Terri – emerging, teal, aromas, and refreshing (well it should have been furs and feathers after Terri changed it and I didn’t get the memo in time!).
- emerging sculpture trail in the Snowy Valleys
- the colour teal where I linked owls, a beach, ovarian cancer and a mug
- the aroma of rain on dry earth – known as petrichor
- a refreshing change – how I find a cup of tea, a bike ride the beach and autumn’s last days all refreshing
I’m loving my Wake Up and Be Amazing, it’s Wednesday posts – my version of Wordless Wednesday, sometimes with words, sometimes not – and shared how Science is Child’s play, a fox quilt from olden days, and some interesting ballooning spiders
I also did a Taking Stock post which is always fun to do, plus I shared some thoughts on the difference between celebrating our achievements and showing off – this one got a lot of great comments!
It’s always interesting to share what books I’ve been reading and to see what others recommend, so I really enjoy our monthly What’s on Your Bookshelf (WOYBS) linkup and this month I wrote about a fabulous author’s talk I went to. I also love interacting with my co-hosts of this challenge, we have a great online bookclub and are currently reading Jane Austen.
Our WOYBS challenge linkup is the third Friday of each month, we’d love to have you join in.
My monthly WOTY (Word of the Year) post celebrated my daughters’ birthdays during May and early June and I shared some of their thoughts – a very touching post and very popular! My daughters are gifts that keep on giving! Our WOTY linkup is on the last Friday of the month if you’d like to join us.
At the end of the month I shared a post from last year when I did a talk about blogging at the local library and recorded my thoughts in a post 10 Thoughts about blogging – as a Throwback Thursday post. It’s a good way to share older posts that may have been lost in the ether.
My final post for the month of May was a Monday Musings post looking at our family’s Word a Week Photo challenge with the interesting and new to me word, Fenestrations (meaning windows and doors).
So there you have it – another month of blogging under my belt – in case you missed it (ICYMI)!
We’re into winter now and the temperatures have started to fall at home, along with some snow, but thankfully we’ve headed north to Queensland to see our daughter, son-in-law and grandson for a few weeks. The weather is much warmer here although they have had a cold snap – Queensland style.
Sunday Stills – Pink
I wasn’t going to post for Sunday Stills this week as we’re away on holidays, but Brisbane has some great pinks, so I’ve added a few shots to this post as I hate missing out!

Great recap. I kept thinking what is ICYMI…not the sharpest tool in the shed over here. I am hoping we have a fabulous pink-tinged sunset or sunrise before the month is out for my Sunday Stills capture. Love those giant letters spelling Brisbane. You look adorable posing by one. Great cuffed jeans!!
Love the painting or colored pencil/pastel of your family. What a precious treasure. I think our family is set…don’t anticipate any more babies. Would love to have something similar done of my gang.

Thanks Leslie,I love that Brisbane sign and those jeans are a favourite – thanks for noticing them! My daughters had the drawing of us made especially for my 60th birthday and it was a lovely surprise when I got it! We couldn’t all be together but it was the next best thing.

Thanks Janis, I think that because I don’t often do ‘deep and meaningful’ posts it’s not that big a deal to me – it also makes me feel productive and creative when I post. It’s really just an outlet for me and I obviously have nothing else to do (laughing like a maniac as I write this 😂😂). It’s a good distraction for me!

Thanks Donna, I am busy (at times) and like feeling productive now that I no longer have work as an outlet. My posts are never all that deep and I can whip things up quite quickly these days so it’s not all that time consuming for me. I enjoy the engagement so it’s all fun! I’m looking forward to your WOYBS post this week, I’ve not started mine yet! I’m all about procrastinating until that last minute but I’ll get it done. Hope all is going well for you and your mum. xx

It’s always so good to catch up with Sue when I’m up this way and Brisbane is such a lovely spot in winter. We both loved the photos of our day out. My daughters had the graphic made for my 60th from photos of everyone and they did a great job making sure it was just right. I think they used someone on Etsy to do it. I was tickled pink too! I’m glad I managed to join you again this week 🙂
