Everyone has a story to tell!
Deb is a young-at-heart & active 60+ blogger/retiree, after being made redundant from her 22-year career managing education programs in a men’s correctional centre (jail). She now spends her time reading, blogging, riding her ebike and travelling. Deb was awarded a Bravery Award from the Queen when she was 17 after a tragic accident – a definite life changing moment! She is married with 3 grown-up daughters & has 4 grandchildren. You can read more of Deb’s story here

This sculpture looks like it should be in ancient Rome or Athens. I love it and also the idea of a sculpture trail.

I agree Sue, it wouldn’t look out of place in Rome or Athens! The Sculpture Trail is proving very popular with visitors.

That’s a spectacular sculpture, Debbie! Is there a particular story behind it, and particularly behind the choice of design (do you call it that when it’s art? I’m too ignorant in the world of art)?

I’m not sure Susanne, except to say it was part of a series the artist has done. It’s based on the Colossus of Rhodes but apart from that I’m not sure. It’s very cleverly done!

Thanks Denyse, it’s a great story behind the whole Ukrainian artist and our town getting a sculpture trail. We are supported by the Sculpture by the Sea people and very fortunate!

It’s part of the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail which brings people to town just like the rail trail does Jen. It’s really good.

Hi Deb, Fancy having a sculpture like that in Tumbarumba! It looks like something you’d see in Rome or Italy somewhere. You must be cultured folk out that way! 😉

Yes Min we’re very fortunate to have this new sculpture to add to those already in our shire – it’s a spin off from the Sculpture by the Sea people, taking culture to the back blocks!!
