5 Things I’m Loving Right Now #WWandPics

It’s Wednesday again and I’m delighted to share 5 things I’m loving right now.

I’ve made Wednesdays a day for sharing some amazing moments and you’re welcome to join in #wakeupandbeamazingwednesday. Sometimes I do a Wordless Wednesday post but today isn’t one of those days!

It’s not always big things that take my fancy, it can be simple things like a sunshiny days after all the rain, rainbows and warmth. The way I see it, looking for the amazing in a day always put a smile on my face.

What 5 things am I loving at the moment?

1. I found LOVE on the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail 💖

This sighting made me smile 🙂 A function centre alongside the rail trail recently had a wedding and these wooden letters were left in the paddock. I couldn’t resist sharing on my socials that we’d found LOVE on the rail trail. Are you smiling too?

2. Celebrating 64 years of LOVE

Staying with the theme of LOVE, my parents would have celebrated 64 years of marriage yesterday. Unfortunately my mother celebrated alone as she’s done since dad died in January 2018. It’s still a big milestone to recognise and celebrate.

3. Aqua Aerobics season has started

Thankfully, after me moaning about the wet weather last week in my Taking Stock post, the weather has improved and it was a pleasant 20 degrees for our first aqua aerobics session of the season yesterday. The pool was 24 degrees and despite being cold at first it was a lovely session after we’d all got used to it. This is a free session run by a trained volunteer and goes for an hour twice a week. I always enjoy the gentle exercise and being back in the water, it’s also a lovely social outlet. Sadly, for various reasons, the local pool is only able to open from 3.30pm to 6pm but locals can apply for open access outside of these hours if they can prove they are good swimmers able to be left on their own.

4. Sunshine and exercise

As noted above, the weather has improved and so we are able to enjoy being outside for bbq dinners, reading on the deck, watching the garden grow and soaking up some much needed warmth, plus the bonus of being able to get out and exercise. It’s still a bit cooler than it maybe should be but I’m not complaining!! I can get out and walk, ride my bike and just enjoy the sunshine – I certainly appreciate it!

5. I LOVE a bargain!

Our local library had a book sale last week. Now, just so you know, I donated 6 shopping bags of books and DVDs for the sale, so didn’t fancy coming home with too many replacements, but I did find a few bargains I couldn’t resist. Everything was only 50 cents. This one really appealed to me Jane Austen’s Guide to Romance The Regency Rules by Lauren Henderson. A bargain at only 50 cents!!

It has amusing and useful chapters, such as If You Like Someone, Make it Clear That You Do; Be Witty If You Can, but Not Cynical, Indiscreet, or Cruel; If Your Lover Needs a Reprimand, Let Him Have It plus quizzes about finding out which Austen character you are, which Austen character partner would suit you and other such gems :). Given our online bookclub is currently working our way through Jane’s works (only Emma to go), I thought it too good to pass up. What a bargain I hear you say!

I’m also joining Denyse for her Wednesday’s Words & Pics linkup – come and join in – there are some amazing posts linking up again this week!

Have a great day – and don’t forget, you’re amazing!

Joining Becky for #walkingsquares – I’m really feeling for Becky as her husband died suddenly 34 weeks ago and she writes about how she is struggling with her grief. Walking and the support from other bloggers has given her some joy but it’s hard. She has run her squares posts every few months up until now but is considering what her future holds.

  1. There is a lot to love at the moment with summer in the air and the motivation to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the sunshine. It is also that time of the year where we start getting excited about Christmas and catching up with friends and loved ones. I’m so looking forward to spending Christmas with my kids and grandkids. They are now 3.5 and 20 months so at a great age to get excited about Santa.

    1. Yes Kathy, I agree there’s a lot of love in the air! Like you, I’m also looking forward to Christmas with two of my daughters and their families up your way! Hopefully it will be warm. Your grandkids are a great age to be excited and for us to watch them enjoy it all. Enjoy!

  2. Hi Deb.. I haven’t posted anything for quite some time. Right now I’m loving being in the outdoors walking and cycling. I’m also excited to say I’m returning to Tumbarumba in Feb after a week in the Snowies where cycling the trail will be a must do! We were last there in 2020 and onsite the day the Tumbarumba sign was put in place. Also I am happy that I just picked the first Grevillea flower my father-in-law and I germinated from seeds during his last visit with us in 2020. He’s now 96 and in care but to see him with his ‘Grevillea George’ flower was pure love! Would love to catch up with you in Feb (maybe for a ride on the trail).. Jacky

    1. Oh that would be great to meet up in Feb Jacky, just let me know when you’ll be here. Tumbafest is on the last weekend of February 25/26 and I have a school reunion on 18/2 but6 apart from that it’s looking pretty clear so far.
What a great thing to pick a flower of a plant you’ve germinated yourselves. It’s so good to be able to get outside again!!

  3. Hi Deb – I’m glad the sun is shining in your part of the world again. It’s out in full force here today – 32 degrees! Loved your pool pic and how fantastic to have access to two free classes a week – that’s my idea of a bargain (and the books were too). Right now I’m loving looking at our Christmas tree and lights and starting to get that Christmassy feeling happening. x

    1. It’s a bit old Donna and doesn’t have great reviews but I didn’t take it too seriously (unlike some reviewers).
It turns out I’m an Elizabeth and match up with Mr Darcy, Henry Tilney and Captain Wentworth 🙂

  4. Jane Austen’s guide to romance sounds like a hoot and how lucky are you to be able to enjoy free aqua classes and outside in the sunshine too! It seems so funny to think of you guys warming up because the weather here is definitely cooling down – the perfect excuse to put on a Christmas jumper! Hope you have a great week x

    1. It really was a hoot to read Sammie, although some reviewers took it way too seriously! I’ve managed to catch up with all your news and am so happy you are all settling into your new life over there. We have plans for travelling over there for 2 months in May 2023.

  5. What a cheerful post! Well as you know we are plunging into winter from tomorrow, but I look forward to opening the windows of my Advent calendar, and finishing my shopping for Christmas presents! Also I have a lovely outing next Saturday with friends. Thanks for linking!

  6. THat book sounds crazy! Ha! 64 years is indeed a milestone. Lovely tho I guess a little sad for her too. But worth celebrating. And I love the LOVE sign. That would make me smile…The World Cup is making me smile (but making me late or slack on comments….)

    1. The LOVE sign made me smile and I had to share it! The book has been a hoot to read, light and breezy. I’ve only watched a few of the games during the World Cup but can imagine it’s a bit addictive.

  7. I’m glad the weather has been sunny and a little warmer for you Deb so you can enjoy getting back to Aqua Aerobics. Isn’t it wonderful that it is a free class. I’m loving the Festive Season and my grandsons excitement. It is such a lovely time of year to share with children, isn’t it? #WWandP

    1. Thanks Sue, the pool was cool when we first got in but after an hour of movement we didn’t want to get out. I can’t wait to be with my grandchildren for the festive season, their excitement and joy at this time of the year is so lovely to watch.

  8. Yes I was smiling too at the fact you found LOVE along the trail! Happy 64th Anniversary to your Mum, and I know it’s sad to celebrate without your Dad. Today is what would’ve been my Mum and Dad’s 60th wedding anniversary. Tomorrow it will be 5 years since Dad passed. Right now, I’m loving the convenience of online shopping (I have so little time to do the ‘actual’ shopping) and I’m loving that my mammogram was all clear and my National Bowel Cancer screening test thingy was all clear. I’m very grateful! Merry Christmas Debbie!

    1. Thanks Min, we both lost our Dads around the same time but it doesn’t get any easier does it especially at major anniversary times. Online shopping is so convenient isn’t it, sometime scarily so! Well done on the health checks, mine are all up to date too, apart from my annual blood tests which I’ll get done this week. Merry Christmas to you too!

  9. I read about Becky’s husband sudden death and her blog posts are lessons from grief and love. I also just couldn’t get into the squares again but gosh I feel for her. Your post was LOVEly and I am sorry about your Dad. I think I had only just started following you when he died..maybe wrong. I guess it is nice to have Mum closer now though. The pool looks fun! As for the green everywhere, yes we know why!! Thanks so much for joining in this week’s WWandPics link up where I got to celebrate being 73. Still getting used to the new number…Here we are, it’s December and there are 3 more weeks to link up till I take a short break. I always enjoy seeing your blog pop up on the website. Take care, Denyse.

    1. Thanks for having us over Denyse, I wrote this post specifically for your linkup. Yes I think it was about then that we started following each other’s blogs, time flies by! I’m glad you had a good birthday and mine is a few short days away now :). The weather has improved and life is good!

  10. Hi Deb. It’s so nice to catch up on your blog post, and I’m loving it because it ties in with what I’m working on, which is being grateful every day for what I have. I’m so happy to be traveling again. We visited my son in New York, for a week, and now we are in Strasbourg, France, through the Christmas holidays. Take care, Deb, and enjoy that beautiful weather you are having. xx
