A peek into a change of scenery #SundayStills

A week away

I’ve been away for a week and loved the change of scenery. I swapped my rural, inland location for a week near the coast – the Far South Coast of NSW commonly called the Sapphire Coast. I stayed with friends in a cottage on their property while my husband did a 5 day hike – the Nadgee Wilderness Walk – with three other blokes. It was a real Boys’ Own Adventure by the sounds of things 🙂 (I might share some of his adventure some time in the future as the photos look amazing).

It was a magical time away for both of us. I had some quiet alone time, reading, driving, discovering and exploring and he had a real adventure with snakes, fishing, camping, trudging along sandy beaches with a heavy pack and superb coastal views.

The weather wasn’t the best but it also could have been much worse so I was happy despite my dreams of swimming and walking along the beach every day. The stormy weather gave me lots of potential for moody shots and stormy skies. On the last day the sun shone brightly and I got to do a walk, swim and bike ride (my own form of triathlon) so I was happy!

I woke up on Friday morning to these beautiful views of the sun trying to peek through the fog, a classic autumnal morning.

It augured well for a great day ahead.

This was the view one way and then I turned and took the shot of the tree with blue sky peeling through the fog.

I also had a peek into times gone by in the colourful and historical town of Central Tilba with its old buildings and shops open for business. The Tilba Dairy was a great shop for some local produce.

I found this quote on Goodreads and although I’ve not read the book it’s from, the quote really appealed to me as an apt description of what a photo or artwork is all about plus it gave me an idea for this post 🙂

On a ride today we stopped at a cafe, sitting under this gorgeous tree. The light peeking through really appealed to me.

A peek into my blogging world

I celebrated 11 years of blogging this week and can honestly say I’m still a happy little blogger. A lot has happened in those years and I’ve shared a few thousand posts and images since first hitting the publish button on my first post!

It’s a beautiful world, thanks to all of you for your ongoing support 🙂

  2. I really loved that part of the world. Tilba is so gorgeous. We’d never been before we went to swim with the seals. Such a great long weekend for us. Love your fog shot. It’s fabulous. #WWandP

  7. Deb, I’m really only used to the kinds of coastlines I see in Queensland – no cliffs overlooking beaches or waves crashing onto the shores below but I love the idea of something like that and really haven’t explored much of NSW at all.

    1. Thanks Marsha, the photos were fun to share for the prompt of ‘peek’. I’ll try to visit the link party. Keep going with the blogging, you obviously enjoy it and my only advice is to keep your eyes open to what’s going on around you!

  13. You and I are the same age in blogging years, Deb. LOL I loved your peeking pictures especially the sunlight through the trees. The fog was another favorite. Your blog brims with life and fun. I’m glad you had a good time in spite of the moody weather.

    1. Thanks Terri, the years keep rolling around and I keep blogging! The photos turned out well so I was happy to share them for Sunday Stills. We’ve had rain since I’ve been home from the coast so maybe our Indian Summer is really over now! Enjoy your travels my friend 🙂
