I DID it – my way!

Meeting up with Annie and Janette at Run Melbourne 2017

Run Melbourne 2017 Last week I wrote a post about my upcoming Run Melbourne 2017 event - I CAN do this - and I am pleased to say not only did I do it, I did really well! This is a quote from my post last week: I'm not fast, I'm not stylish, I tend to run …

I CAN do this!

Run for your life, forest running

Running has been a part of my life for quite a while now.  I've written quite a few posts about it over the years and here comes another one!! I'm not fast, I'm not stylish, I tend to run a bit heavy, I'm sometimes happy when it's over and I'm no longer what you'd …

Adventure riding – Musings on a Monday

Bikes, New Zealand, Rail Trail, Otago

Mountain biking - Now you know me, I love an adventure,  but I have this little issue with heights, losing control and going too fast.  While I loooove looking at these sorts of videos I could never in a million years do this. I realise this is an ad for something but I don't really …

Run, Debbie, run….

Waving while running

Today is Mother's Day here in Australia and that means the annual Mother's Day Classic. This is an event for walkers, runners, families, friends and people of all ages to come together in support of Breast Cancer research. Events are held all over Australia and usually include the colour pink in some form. My daughter …

Obviously meant to encourage me, these sweet words spurred me on to the finishing line with a bit more gusto! I don't consider myself old but when I looked around …

Is the kettle on? I’m coming over for Tea time #4

As a tea lover I am joining Justine's Tea Time #4 for the first time. I've seen the posts before but haven't managed to make it before. I like my tea hot, black, weak with one sugar usually in a mug not a cup. I also like real tea if possible but will drink tea bag …

Weekly photo challenge: Threshold

This was a great first 5km Park Run event for me.

Deb's World

imageHere is my submission for this week’s photo challenge. It is a picture taken on my phone on the threshold of my first 5km Park Run.

I took this photo just as I was about to join over 127 others for the Lake Ginninderra Park Run which happens every Saturday morning at 8am.  All runners were being briefed on the event, the course and the organisation.

Park Runs are free events for runners all over the world and now that I am registered I can just turn up and run at any Park Run. They aren’t really competitive as you run against yourself and your recorded times. I think I ran very well and am pleased to say that I came first in my age group – according to the email I received just after the event. My first official PB, how exciting!! As I live over 250kms away…
