My 12wbt journey has started

I joined the Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation in early October. I signed up online, paid my money and jumped right into the forum,  after a bit of looking around the site and getting my bearings. I had missed a few of the early warm up challenges but still read through them and got …

Starting out – Debbie’s Daughter

My clever daughter is now blogging as well!

Debbie's Daughter Photography - Travel & other Musings

So it’s been two weeks since I started my long running dream of creating my own little business. And what a 2 weeks they have been!

But to start I guess I should go back to the beginning which starts with my wonderful Dad- Grant. Thinking about it I probably should have called it Grant’s Daughter Photography as he was the one that introduced me to taking pictures. Always looking for a great shot, looking for good angles or scenes, catching people unaware (not in a paparazzi kind of way) and documenting our lives one photograph at a time.  He would often turn our laundry into a dark room and set up all the equipment and chemicals for us to develop, amend and edit photos. I loved it and still do.  My childhood home is FULL of photos, albums and photo books. It’s what I’ve been brought up and something…

things I just don’t get

Walking in the bush is very therapeutic I've decided. Despite not wanting to go out for a walk I needed to get up my 10000 steps for the day, so I forced myself to go, feeling slow & generally out of sorts. I let my body set the pace & just wandered the track instead …

Randomness

I had another great idea while I was out wunning/ralking today. It seems to be when I have all my creative thoughts these days. I was thinking what a good idea it would be if some clever geeky person made an app that could sinc my brain to my iPhone so that my thoughts could …

Random thoughts while out running

While out in the pine forest this morning I decided that I should invent a new word - maybe Ralking or Wunning. You see, I've started running, except that it's not really running in the true sense of the word, it's more a mix of running & walking.  At the moment, as I've just started this new style …

Losing myself in a book

Books and a cuppa

Is reading a form of Zen? Do you find yourself getting caught up in what you are reading, so much so that you have to stop for a moment to remember that it isn't real? I do all the time & I love the sense of escapism that a book can give me. Once when …

Looking on the bright side of life…

Where has the last week gone? It's only been my first full week back at work and I'm feeling well & truly back into the thick of things. As well as working, my week has included Rotary (with me taking over the presidential duties again for a short while), book club, movie club, a school performance, …

It’s over….

I have been home from my amazing holiday for a full week now & think that PHD is setting in (post holiday depression). I had such a great time with Melanie, catching up with so many of our friends, making new friends, seeing new sights, doing exciting things & the weather (for the most part) …

3 times less beautiful?

Debbie birthday

Is beauty in the eye of the beholder? I suppose, if I am honest, that I am 3 times less beautiful than I was yesterday. What has changed since yesterday? I have had three very prominent beauty spots (moles) removed from my face, which since I am being honest, still has more than its fair …
