Like a diamond in the sky #SundayStills

Diamonds and other sparkly things

Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are – this photo was taken (with my iPhone) a year ago at Easter and my then 2year-old granddaughter loved seeing the sparkling stars above us. She just kept saying wow!

The sea has a certain diamond sparkle to it when the sun shines brightly.

Last weekend we were in Sydney with our daughter and family and the city turned on the sparkles for us, weather-wise. The previous weeks/months had seen torrential rain

There’s the rough diamonds, salt of the earth people.

This Easter our granddaughter had some fun with sparklers and the fire in the backyard. She’s growing up fast.

Diamonds are associated with strength, love and health

I’m lucky to have these attributes in my life at the moment and not a day goes by that I don’t feel grateful for that.

Sunday Stills Photo Challenge

Terri is back with Sunday Stills photo challenge and the prompt this week is a colour prompt of diamond or quartz. You can read Terri’s post here: Is Quartz a girl’s best friend?

I enjoy the connections we make through blogging and photo challenges such as this is a perfect example. Terri and I have never met but we share many similarities in our lives. I always enjoy reading her posts and seeing her world through her eyes. She’s a sparkling diamond!

There are lots of ways we can see diamonds in our lives. I’ve gone for a different version today and I hope you have enjoyed my post and photos. To me diamonds represent sparkles and so I’ve shared some photos that show this in everyday life.

As Marilyn said:

We are all of us stars and we deserve to twinkle.

Wishing you a great week ahead, full of sparkles and shiny bright things at the very least.

  1. I couldn’t quite figure out how to capture diamonds/quartz but you nailed it! Love those water photos especially. And like Donna says you manage to tie it all together with gratitude. Bernie

    1. Thanks Donna, I wasn’t sure what to do (this is often the case) but at the last minute, while everyone else was in bed, I managed to pull it together – so your comment means a lot to me!

    1. Thanks Leanne, I wasn’t sure where to go with this prompt but enjoyed thinking a bit outside the square! We’ve had superb weather over Easter and having the grandkids here has been so much fun!
