What day is it? Asking for a friend 🙂

What day is it? I'm in holiday mode!

This is the most asked question in our household at the moment, and has been for the past few weeks. We generally know the ‘month’ but not what ‘day’ it is. My calendar is my best friend, reminding me of what I have planned each day. And my watch tells me the day if I remember to look at it!

I think today is Friday 😂 but feel free to correct me.

Although I’m now into my third year of retirement, it still amazes me that holiday time hits me the way it does! It could be because we have a teenage Rotary Exchange Student living with us and we’re aware of school being on holidays (which is funny because we both worked in Education for many years) or it’s just that time of the year when everything goes into free-fall.

I must admit it’s a nice way of being and the hammock is a great place to hangout, with a spurt of exercise every few days, preferably the aqua aerobics type of activity, given the heatwave conditions we’ve been experiencing here.

Is this a common theme or is it just me?

It’s all a bit ironic given my word of the year is TIME and trying to work our how to get more of it in 2019!  Maybe I need more help than I thought 🙂

Stay in touch and enjoy those holiday feels!

Meeting up with two of my favourite bloggers

Blogger meet up – Fun Friday photo

Today was a definitely a fun Friday! I did lots of different things to my usual Friday fare including a meet-up with two of my favourite Australian bloggers – in person!! Earlier in the week I read two different posts on the same subject – Miriam’s post about meeting up with Louise from The Year I touched my toes, Loving…

iPhriday – school’s out

It’s iPhriday – school’s out School’s out, with holidays for some. Perhaps a longer break for this teacher bringing an amazing career to an end. Over 39 years of caring and hard work Who knows what lies ahead? It’s always good to see the photos of the first day of school, so I thought I’d document the last day as well. (Technically…

room trashed

iPhriday – Trashing a room

It’s Phriday – time for a laugh While in Sydney for meetings, my work colleague (and friend) decided to play a practical joke on me. This involved her ‘trashing’ my hotel room. As her room wasn’t ready I generously let her use mine until she could get into her room. She thanked me for my generosity and promptly proceeded to…

iPhriday – Awesomeness

It’s Phriday – that’s awesome! I love Fridays and having an afternoon cup of tea in my favourite mug is an awesome way to start the weekend.  Relax, unwind, breathe…… It doesn’t hurt to remind ourselves just how awesome we are either! iPhriday is where we get to share a photo taken with a mobile phone. Thanks to Lisa at Graydaysandcoffee for starting this Friday…

city lights

iPhriday – city lights

It’s Phriday! It’s not been the best week but this view from my hotel room in the centre of Sydney was one of the good things to happen! The night view was beautiful and the sunrise was pretty good too. iPhriday is where we get to share photos taken with a mobile phone. You can see my previous iPhriday posts by clicking this link –…

iPhriday – coffee art

It’s Phriday again – here’s some coffee art I took this photo on my phone while we were out for breakfast in the city recently. I don’t take too many foody type photos but I’ve been very surprised about how well my post for the Weekly Photo Challenge Dinnertime has been received.  Although it’s about food, it doesn’t actually have a photo of…

It’s Good iPhriday

It’s Good Phriday today! I took these photos while wandering around the local showground, the day after the town’s annual agricultural Show.  It was a lovely sight – all crisp, clear, clean and reflective. In reality it’s just a little bridge over the creek and an empty grandstand but I like their quietness and stillness after the big, busy and noisy day they…
