The return of the Family Photo Challenge #WordlessWednesday

A Word a Week family photo challenge

Our family is spread out fairly far and wide, with many still in lockdown of one kind or another, so we have reinstated the Family Photo Challenges, which we all enjoyed last year. It helps us to stay connected, engaged and it’s always fun to see what everyone comes up with.

We’ve chosen a one word theme for each week and have a private Facebook page for us to share our photos and engage with each other. We also have a weekly catch-up on a Sunday night where it’s good to see everyone’s faces and laugh and talk with each other.

Week 1 – Phone

The first week theme for October was Phone – it could be a photo of a phone, a photo taken with a phone, a photo of someone with a phone…the options were endless!

I went with a selfie taken on my phone, then used an app with a filter called ‘inseparable’, still on my phone, which has a hand gripping a phone, which I thought was very appropriate. I produced this:

a word a week - phone
a word a week photo challenge – phone

What do you think?

Some of the other photos submitted were of old phones, public telephones, computer screens which are the new phones, a QR code on a phone, children using tin cans as phones, selfies with the light of the phone illuminating faces, a child playing with an old rotary phone, someone on a phone, WFH essentials…so many good photos which made us all think and appreciate how phones are a part of our daily lives.

Week 2 is about spoons – so I would appreciate any suggestions for taking a creative photo of a spoon!!

I appreciate that this isn’t actually a wordless post (again), thanks for joining me anyway!

Happy days!

Deb 🙂

  1. I love this way your family stays connected and involved Deb – a fun challenge with some thinking involved and different spins on the same topic. Spoons is a tricky one – I’m sure you’ll come up with something clever. x
