Turning 12…again!

It’s been 12 years since I started blogging

It’s a long time since I turned 12 the first time – over 50 years in fact!

But 12 is my favourite number because my birthday is on 12/12.

Thanks to WordPress for reminding me that I registered my blog 12 years ago!

12 year blogging anniversary
12 year blogging anniversary

In the first 10 years I wrote 1659 posts and two years later I’m up to a total of 1765 posts (I have deleted some over the years) which means I’ve slowed right down!!

Most of my posts were written in the earlier years, which is weird as I was juggling work and blogging back then. And since December 2016 I’ve been retired, so theoretically I should have more time on my hands!

I certainly wrote a lot more posts back in those early years and not necessarily quality ones if I’m being honest!

I’m the first to admit that I don’t write deep and meaningful stuff but I don’t think I’m that shallow either.

Debbie (2016)

It’s never been about having lots of followers or setting the world on fire, but simply to have somewhere to be creative. I love my World!

It’s been such a fun 12 years of blogging at Deb’s World– I’ve learnt a lot, grown a lot, written a lot of words, shared heaps of photos and want to thank everyone who has visited, commented, shared and encouraged me along the way. It’s not easy at times but I’m still here blogging away and I’m thriving!

I’m not pulling up stumps just yet, it’s just that I was reminded by WordPress.com that it’s my blog’s anniversary today, so I thought I’d celebrate!

We all have stories to tell and usually our blogs are the way we share our thoughts – for whatever reason.

Debbie 2021

I appreciate all my followers/readers and thank everyone who has ever left me a comment or liked a post.  It’s great to have your ongoing support.

Cheers to many more years!

  2. Happy 12 years of blogging Deb! We are practically twins! I started blogging on 19 September 2012 so it’s nearly 12 years for me too! I think it proves how much we both must enjoy it to stick to blogging for so long. Many don’t last the distance. So much has happened over that 12 years and our blogs are like a time capsule. So many memories, big and small, that otherwise might be forgotten … we have to look back on. I love that. Thanks so much for linking up with #WWWhimsy and have a wonderful Easter! xo

  6. Your blogs always come across as something you enjoy doing rather than feel obliged to do. I must admit it’s been a while as I dip in and out of blogging but I remember yours as being upbeat and…sunny! Congrats on the 12 years.

  8. Congratulations on 12 years, Debbie! That is amazing! I am so glad I found you! Your blogs are bright spots in my day because you’re so real and almost always put a smile on my face. I’m glad you’ve decided to stick around for a bit…if I knew how to put a smiley emoji here, I’d do it! But, my laptop is not cooperating right now. Know that I’m smiling as I type this, though!

  9. Deb, congratulations. Twelve years is a long time in bloggy years. I think statistics show that most are abandoned by age 2 – 4. You’ve certainly beat the odds. Blogs written by ‘real people’ keep my attention, and I imagine most of your readers feel the same. Best wishes for another dozen years to come.
